Had a solar system installed at my mom’s house 3 years ago, the batteries are under warranty for 10 years, one of the battery walls failed on 9/24/2026, I contacted Freedom Solar right away. 12 days later they are still telling me they are waiting for Tesla on how to proceed, they said it could take weeks!!! I bought the system through Freedom Solar Power, not Tesla.

Very rude and pushy
These guys came by my house, blatantly ignoring my "No Solicitors" sign, and then were incredibly rude, disrespectful and pushy. They refused to leave when we asked them to MULTIPLE times, and I ended up having to close the door in their face. They also tried to get us to show them our electric bill, which was really invasive and I did NOT appreciate it. Very rude, I wouldn't do business with someone who cannot read.

“Would Not Recommend — Unresolved Damage and NDA Demands”
We contracted Freedom Solar in 2021 for solar panels and a Tesla Powerwall. Installation was smooth, but after a 2023 hailstorm damaged our roof, Freedom Solar demanded $7,000 upfront to remove and reinstall the panels and wouldn’t schedule reinstallation until 30 days after roof completion — even though their schedule was already over a month out.
After repeated delays and missed appointments, the panels were reinstalled, but subcontractors left metal anchors embedded in our new roof. When we requested removal, a subcontractor falsely blamed our roofer and threatened legal action. Photos proved this false, and the anchors were removed.
However, the area was poorly repaired. During a storm, water leaked into our attic and bathroom ceiling. Our licensed roofer confirmed the leak was caused by improper sealing where the anchors had been, which voided our roof warranty.
Freedom Solar denied responsibility. Their insurance rep claimed the leak was due to “condensation” inside the bathroom vent, ignoring clear evidence that water entered through damaged shingles and traveled down the outside of the exhaust pipe — eventually leaking through the bathroom vent grill. Freedom Solar argued, incorrectly, that water could only come through the inside of the pipe.
We escalated to Freedom Solar’s executive leadership with full documentation, but they refused to take responsibility and offered only $950 for repairs — conditional on signing an agreement to:
• Delete all negative reviews
• Never criticize them publicly (even indirectly)
• Extend this to any future occupant of our home
• Keep the agreement confidential
We declined. This was an attempt to silence us, not a resolution.
We will report this to the Texas Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division, as this conduct reflects the harm Texas Senate Bill 1036 aims to prevent — using legal intimidation instead of honest resolution.

I bought my system in 2019
I bought my system in 2019. When they sold me the system the micro inverters were from a company that went out of business in 2018. They never informed me they were installing parts from the company that is been out of business. now, six years later, I have three micro inverters not working. And they will not stand behind the 25 year warranty. And now they want to charge $100 a year to access the app.

Solar Nightmare
We trusted this company with our solar panel installation, but it has turned into an absolute disaster. Their installation caused a leak in our roof, damaging both our property and belongings inside. Despite their promises to handle any issues, they have refused to fix the roof or the damages inside our home. Worse, we lost our warranty with our home builder because of them. The dream of going solar has turned into a nightmare, all because we chose to trust them over others. Extremely disappointed and frustrated.

I tried to do business with this company, but their own arrogance got in the way.
This company goes out of its way to put the customer absolute last. From the litany of complaints against this company and endless string of 1-star reviews, I'm glad I realized what a loser this company was before I finalized the deal.
Sam gave me an estimate to purchase solar panels, but then he decided he had better things to do other than his job when I needed an estimate for leasing panels. And for the other generation Zers who think they are similarly entitled and feel that this world owes them a living, I wish you luck in getting and keeping a job. There are 31% of hiring managers who will not hire Gen Z workers and now I know why. Why wasn't someone else covering his clients if they knew he was going to be out of the office? Freedom Solar would do well to get rid of its pompous management staff, inefficient methods, and inexperienced entitled sales reps. For arrogance, disjointed presentation, unprofessional attitude, and lack of work ethic, I will be taking my solar dollars elsewhere. I advise everyone else to do the same.

Think twice about using Freedom Solar
I had Freedom Solar installed a few years ago and then upgraded to back up batteries due to our changing climate. Due to hail storms early last summer, I required a new roof. When I first had the insulation, customer service was quite good and local. However, they have grown and extended themselves and doing so there is a disconnect With difficulty reaching people in charge or someone who could actually provide a service. Even the local representative that I’ve use has changed three times since I had my panels installed. When I first was going to need a new roof, I was required to pay in advance And add a cost that is more than others for the removal and reinstallation. They state that warranty will be negated if we use a different company. However, it took me six weeks of calling and finally able to touch with someone that I was not receiving an email the invoice because their new system did not allow or recognize my email. I was finally able to get it uninstalled after it was rescheduled because they had to fire a crew. At that time they had also scheduled reinstallation. Again it took me over a week of constantly calling to try and get the invoice so I could pay for the scheduled date. I called numerous times, including the day before installation to verify, and was assured the crews would be there. They were not. After calling numerous times to try and get someone to explain why no one showed in when they would install, no one called and I got an email this afternoon saying I would have to wait three months in January.
on BBB site. I see another person about same time as I who has been rescheduled twice and another who has been waiting for installation since February of this year. I can really feel for the gentleman because we are paying for our electricity when we should be making it. I find this totally unacceptable and will encourage others not to use Freedom Solar . It doesn’t do any good to have a good product if you cannot provide good customer service.
