I spoke with Jose' in the customer service on Wed. 6/17/26 when I was having an extremely hard moment. I had just left the Greensboro, NC office from an installation of the Monitech machine from the Alcolock machine. Alan at the Greensboro office gave me a VERY brief tutorial of how to start the car and how to do an arrival test. There was no instructions otherwise except the questions that I asked. There was no troubleshooting and I was told not to take the machine out of the car for any reason. Alan did not warn me that if I was unable to pass the tests while driving down the road that the horn would begin blowing and that it would ask me to pull over. This is a BIG DEAL and should have been explained. This is not something that occurred on the Alcolock device. You just continued to blow on that device until you passed it. I traveled about 15 minutes from the service center the horn begin to sound because it was telling me to blow harder, abort hum with a music note, blow harder, abort hum . I pulled over and cut the car off and was able to pass the arrival test. However, when I cut the car back on and passed the test to start driving again, it gave me a lockout of 5 days away at 5pm. I feel this is VERY unfair as I was only instructed one time how to start and one time how to arrive. Again, NOTHING ever mentioned about the car horn sounding and needing to pull over. This is extremely dangerous and makes a driver VERY anxious especially when you have NO idea this is going to happen. This happened again to me about 5 more miles down the road and I was locked out of the machine for 5 minutes. I then called customer service because I had no way of contacting the local office for assistance. Jose in customer service was very calming and told me if I was unable to pass the test I would have to have the car towed to the local service center and pay the tow bill which I feel is again very unfair given the lack of instruction and no paperwork provided to me upon installation. The young man didn't tell me the "sound" I would need to make or anything. While Jose' was attempting to contact Greensboro service center, I was able to get the car started and I continued toward my home which was about 35 minutes away. The fail continued to happen to me on my drive home. The horn began to blow again. I refused to pull over any more and be stranded on the side of the road as I am a woman and would be stranded alone. I drove the van all the way home with the horn alarming until I got to my home and cut the van off and did the arrival test. I was so upset and my nerves were so tore up by then that I felt I needed a nerve pill. I have an appointment to go to the Greensboro service center today, 6/19/26 at 5:30 to have the machine looked at. I you tubed Monitech and Life Saver Machines and tried to find out what sounds I should be trying to make to not have this experience on my way to work this morning. I had NO TROUBLE at all on my ride to work today. Please instruct your installation offices/service centers to do a better job providing instructions to NEW drivers that are getting your equipment so no one else has to go through this experience EVER. This was a HORRIBLE first experience and I certainly HOPE and PRAY that Monitech doesn't expect me to pay the $35 fee for having to bring the car in due to failing when it was due to lack of instruction on the part of your employee in the Greensboro Service Center. Oscar is the best in this business. He was very professional yet made me feel comfortable to reach out to him and ask for help. He answered all of my questions and all concerns. He did a great job. All around just an amazing job. I had been on hold before for over an hour and passed through 4 different people transferring me. But wih him you dont get transferred or pushed through all of the "please hold for the right person ". He is the right person. Thanks Oscar for all of your help!
