I am sharing my experience with the public
I am sharing my experience with Pittsburgh Publishers so that authors and other consumers can do their own research before entering into an agreement or sending money or original manuscripts. Several aspects of my experience raised serious concerns: • Questionable business address: The address provided for Pittsburgh Publishers appeared to be a mailbox located inside a photocopying and printing store. The owners of the business at that location told me they had never heard of Pittsburgh Publishers. • Disconnected telephone number: A telephone number previously listed on the company’s website is now disconnected. • Amazon representation: Because Pittsburgh Publishers presented me with a service involving Amazon, I contacted Amazon directly. Amazon representatives told me they had no knowledge of Pittsburgh Publishers or any relationship with the company. • Constantly changing representatives: During approximately six weeks, I dealt with about six different individuals representing the company. Names, telephone numbers, and email addresses changed repeatedly. • Books not delivered: The agreement represented that books would be provided. After more than three weeks, I had not received the promised books. • Concern regarding my manuscript: After I disputed charges with my bank, I was told that my manuscript would be published without my permission and would not be returned unless the disputed charges were repaid. These circumstances caused me to question the company’s business practices and prompted me to report my concerns to the appropriate authorities. This review is intended as a consumer warning, not as a legal determination about the company. I encourage authors considering Pittsburgh Publishers to conduct independent research, verify the company’s physical address and business relationships, carefully review all contracts and fees, and avoid sending original creative work or making additional payments until they are satisfied that the company and its representations can be independently verified. Authors deserve clear contracts, transparent pricing, reliable communication, and confidence that their creative work will be handled properly. This complaint is intended not only to document my experience, but also to serve as a public warning. Authors considering doing business with Pittsburgh Publishers should exercise extreme caution and conduct independent due diligence. Verify the company’s identity, physical address, business relationships, contracts, fees, and representations before providing an original manuscript or making any payment.
