Churnkey changed how we think about churn, in a good way. Before, watching customers leave felt like something that just happened to us, and all we could do was hope the next month looked better. This gave us a way to actually do something about it.
The cancel flows helped much more than I expected. Especially being able to finally understand why people were leaving. Those reasons used to be a mystery we'd argue about in meetings. Seeing them clearly let us fix things that genuinely needed fixing.
And the failed payment recovery quietly brought back revenue we'd already written off as lost.
It's rare for a tool to make you feel more connected to your customers while saving customers and paying for itself. Would highly recommend.

Their customer support was incredibly helpful.
Although it made me a bit sad that certain parts of their service were being put to side and we really wanted to utilize it, their support (more specifically Tenari) was super helpful and did their best to guide us through solutions as we figured out how to establish 2 flows.
I'd definitely recommend Churnkey.

Churnkey has saved us money!
Churnkey has helped our business recoup a ton of lost revenue. It's very easy to use and their help documentation is very clear.
Also, their support are very nice and have added things to the software based on my feedback.
That's great because so often you hear "That's awesome feedback, I'll pass that to the product team! :)" and it vanishes into the ether. Churnkey actually listened and actually implemented things that have made my job easier!

Strong product and customer service
Strong product and customer service!
Although I notice they tend to cut features that don't seem to get mass adoption. Guess I can't blame them for that.

Good for very basic use, not so otherwise.
It's a good service in general if your usage is basic, but it has lots of issues, and when you factor their price into the process, I find it harder to justify these issues.
It's only my second day trying Churnkey and I ran into all of this:
- There is no Sandbox support. This forces you into using test mode which Stripe has been long sidelined in favour of Sandboxes. So, if you are a good Stripe developer who follows Stripe recommendations and use sandboxes in all of your testing, this will force you to change everything back to a nearly deprecated feature (which is really a lot of work for an app that is supposed to make things easier). They said they are working on supporting sandboxes but did not provide a timeline. And looking at how long Sandboxes were around, I suspect this isn't coming soon.
- Test functionality for payment links does not work on test mode, only live. This means you can't test the functionality before release, which is a very dangerous thing. I contacted their support regarding this and they acknowledged the bug, though again, to timeline on when it's going to be fixed.
- No way to test reactivation emails.
- Apparently, in cancel flows, if there is a coupon already applied during trial and you offer a cancellation flow, it does not replace it rather apply it to the one after, even though the message on the cancellation flow says "if you take this offer, you'll lose your current discount".
- The dashboard for analytics is weird. I haven't gone live yet but I connected our Stripe account and it's probably showing test mode analytics (that or their numbers are totally incorrect).
- In cancellation flows, if you use test clocks in test mode, it does not work with it. It will account for current date, not the current active clock time. This means you can't simulate long run subscriptions.
- Apparently you can only pause the subscription once. When you try to pause multiple times, the option becomes unavailable (grayed out, with the pause dropdown empty), but this might be attributed to the issue above that it does not work with test clocks. I cannot confirm if it would happen in real subscriptions (again, poor testing support).
- When you pause a subscription, it applies immediately, not at the end of the current billing period. So, if you pause at the start of the period for 2 months and your subscription is month, you really pause for one month.
I have contacted their support for a couple of these issues, and kudos for them for offering HUMANS, not AI, to respond to you, though the response time is **really** slow.
If you are going to pay minimum $600/mo for this, it's really hard to justify. The way I see it, it's a $40/mo tops. They need to work really harder on the customization and testing to make it worth it, but the way things are, this isn't priced well at all with the amount of issues and confusion it has. It's probably better for the developers to implement these flows manually.
Response from Churnkey· Nov 14, 2025
Thanks for the detailed feedback. A few thoughts:
On Sandbox support: We should support it. We're working on it.
EDIT: as of April 1, we now support Stripe Sandboxes. Here's a link to our Docs on this topic: https://docs.churnkey.co/cancel-flows/further-configuration#live-mode-vs-test-mode-vs-sandbox-mode
On testing: The scattered testing experience (payment links only working in live, no reactivation email testing, test clocks not working) is a challenge we're working to rectify. Totally hear you on this.
EDIT: we've made substantial improvements to testing and making it easier to go live with minimal setup.
On the coupon behavior and pause mechanics: These are deliberate product decisions and are also changeable within your toggles. Sounds like we should communicate your options better.
On pricing: You mentioned $600/mo minimum...just to clarify, our Starter plan is $300/mo (you were on it). But I hear what you're saying: if the testing experience is broken and core features don't work predictably, the price doesn't matter. You're paying for something that should just work.
A question: You mentioned this is your second day. What were you trying to accomplish that led you down this path? Understanding your pressures and goals could help me understand your situation better. We have many businesses who get immense ROI from this plan alone at your relative stage.
Appreciate you taking the time to document everything.
