Poor communication
Overall, I’m disappointed with my shopping experience at Crazy for Ewe. I don't have a local yarn store, so online shopping is my only option. I had been eyeing a couple of cocoknits kits for a while, and this store was the only one I found stateside with them both in stock. Or so I thought. After a couple of days had passed since placing my order, the website boasted same-day shipping, I reached out to the shop’s owner to inquire about its status. Only then did she inform me that one of the kits was out of stock, and she had to order it from the supplier. It would have been nice had she initiated the communication, but whatever. Things happen. She also didn't mention anything about the other kit I ordered. This will be important later. So, I waited another week or so for my order to ship. When it arrived, the kit that was in stock was opened (resealed with Scotch tape) and contained an expired item. Nowhere on the item’s sale page was it described as anything other than brand new. When I brought this to the owner’s attention, she insisted that the kit, now discontinued, wasn’t used, just opened and that the newer version came with fewer items and was $20 more. So, I could either return it at my own expense, or she could send me a new bottle of wool wash to replace the expired one. I had half a mind to return the entire order, but I did not want to spend additional money on an order that had already cost me $200, so I opted for the latter. Yet here I sit; nearly a month has passed since I placed the order, and I have not received the replacement item. And yet again, the owner hasn't reached out to explain the delay. I wouldn’t have written this negative review if she had been forthcoming and offered better customer service. The shipping delays and opened-boxed kit wouldn’t be issues had she just told me about them upfront. This was my first time shopping at Crazy for Ewe, and it will likely be the last time, too.

Hi Rosa, I'm so sorry for the confusion on this order. The Sweater Care Kit you ordered has been discontinued, and the only one we had left was one that had been opened, but never used. It was not on display, only opened t photograph. I absolutely should have reached out to explain the situation before shipping. I typically do exactly that, for instance if an item is unavailable or there is a dyelot mismatch. To make it worse, the task of sending you a replacement wool wash out right away was lost in our internal communication, and I apologize for that. The service you received was not up to our normal standards, and I apologize. We really do pride ourselves on our service, and I would like to make it up to you. I have sent you a $75 gift card and would be honored if you would give us another chance. Warmly, Ellen
