It may be better for beginners joining a class but for my situation it didn’t work. I am retired and living in Italy - already a citizen, but I wanted to concentrate on grammar. I did explain this and asked for private lessons which I believed would be tailored for me. I paid over £500 for 16 lessons and found out that I had only paid for a third of the A2 and the materials for that course were set. It didn’t cover the subjects that were of interest to me, and the grammar only covered the past tense - which I had already covered. So once I had paid I was committed, and I only consolidated what I already knew. I wish I had known that I had only paid for the third of the course, and that I wouldn’t even cover the future tense - which was promised in the A2 list of contents. In future please list what has been paid for.

The course Cittadinanza doesn't prepare you for the test!
The course was supposed to prepare us for the test B1 for citizenship, but the whole course when I asked about preparation, the answer was "non ti preoccupare", like just follow the course and all will be good. In the end of the course my level is A1-A2. We didn't practice grammar, we rather were studying lots of useless words.
- the teachers themselves were good, responsive and very kind, the last teacher is adjusting exercises on request
- but the structure of the course is not done well, it doesn’t focus on important things, like learning grammar better, there are no exercises that are designed for the test. It’s only by the initiative of a teacher or a student, we did exercises that involve practices closer to the reality of the exam. Otherwise, we learnt words and topics that are unnecessary. Rather this time could be dedicated to usage of articles, congregations. Only when we asked, teacher needed to prepare extra documents, extra explanations, which was relevant for all the students, but it wasn’t part of the course.
- the level of language is very different in the group. Some already have Spanish and it’s different compare to other students, so the dynamic of the group becomes not coherent.
- Through several months we had 3-4 teachers, and also students were changing, which was distracting for the dynamic of the group and the pace.

Dear Alsu,
Thank you for your feedback. We understand the importance of preparing for the B1 test.
Our citizenship course is designed to build a strong foundation in the Italian language, especially for beginners. Unfortunately, your course attendance has not been conducive to your learning process, with absences exceeding 50% of the entire course you may not have experienced the full curriculum designed to prepare students thoroughly for B1 level. This could be the reason why you currently believe your level is A1-A2.
Reaching a B1 level requires consistent practice and effort, and our primary focus is to ensure students achieve this level before moving on to specific exam preparation. Your feedback about the course structure and teaching dynamics is invaluable, and we will use it to improve our program. If you need additional support or have further suggestions, please reach out. We are committed to helping you achieve your language learning goals.
Best regards,
MH

My experience
The instructor was very helpful and she attended to our questions and inquiries. The content and show slides were good but could’ve been better. What I disliked is that the recordings of the lessons will not be available forever. They will disappear after a period of 15 days. There are no quizzes or exams which I think are essential for language learning and the only evaluation I will receive is from the tests that are on the platform. There is no push to be under pressure to study.
One important thing to mention is that the salesperson that reached out to me convinced to join the course while she didn’t mention that it had already started 2 weeks ago. She mentioned that it will not affect my evaluation or something. I paid for 2 weeks that I did not attend. I also think that the name Dante en Linea is a bit misleading. It is not part of the Dante institute based in Italy and the prices are expensive in comparison with other options.
