I have traveled with Detour a number of times, and they have provided exceptional service every time: from helping me chose great trips, to providing helpful advice and information in preparing for my trips, and then of course the trips themselves! I can't even begin to tell you all the amazing experiences I've had!

I had a great time on my trip to Ecuadar a few years back. It was my first big, out of the US vacation. Detour made it fun, easy, and comfortable! I loved the variety of events planned for each day: snorkeling, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and more! Some of which were a first for me, all the tour guides were helpful and accommodating with each activity. I definitely look forward to my next trip with them :)

Mountain Lodges 7 Day Lares Trek was magical. Guides were incredible, the lodges were lovely, and the food was impeccable. I cried when the trip ended. Detour made the whole booking process so easy, I originally wanted to hike the Inca Trail but the permits were sold out. I was so bummed out, but Greg from Detour convinced me that this trip was just as good. It was that and even more. I am glad Detour had an alternative suggestion which in the end was a better option for me. I am so glad I did this trip!

I can't say enough good things about Detour Destinations. They know, really know, the ins and outs of Central and South America. I havae worked with them on several trips - Peru, Costa Rica and Ecuador. They know these countries - have the insider's scoop - on people, places and experiences. They have created deeply authentic, culturally rich and super fun & adventurous trips for my family. I asked for a combo of education, adventure and community - they delivered on all three. I asked for a college level educated field biologist and history tour guide and they not only delivered an expert in the history & culture of Peru, but one who had connections to the Indigenious people of the Andes....so when we walked a trail and picked a leaf or flower he could tell us why it was important to the people 1000 years ago and today. That alone made a life changing impression on my son. All important to us on any trip the food! Detour knew where to go to - from diners and five star - to experience Anthony Bourdain authentic food. I'll never forgot the Coca leaf ravioli with a fresh tomato sauce enjoyed while sitting on in a sun drenched, flower rich patio - it was magical. Detour Destinations is my go to for custom adventure travel - for family, for multi-generational trips and for girl friend get-aways. Last but not least DD delivers value......you get everything the big boy thick colored brochure travel operators offer without the huge mark-up.

I was very happy with our trip to Belize. I thought they organized the trip well and got us fair prices. This made things a lot easier for us going to place we knew very little about.

Detour found great adventures for us, and the local guides they rely on are fantastic. One of the best trips I've ever taken.

I have been on a trip to the Huaorani tribe in the Ecuadoran Amazon basin rain forest. It was one of the best trips I have ever taken. We were well taken care of, learned so much, and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of the Huaorani people.

Detour is one of the best companies you can book a tour with. We have gone on two trips set up by Detour Destinations. The first was Peru and the second was Ecuador. Their support pre trip and during the trip was EXCELLENT. They put together both trips to meet our needs and interests. They helped with any issues that arose during the trip and delivered a 5 Start experience. We have been travel guides ourselves in many countries and understand how hard it is to provide a quality experience, which is what they do. We will be booking more trips with Detour for sure and highly recommend them to anyone who wants a fantastic travel experience.
