There shipping practices are the worst.. first they do not tell you that somebody has to be at the residence to sign, when you try to redirect. drone nerds already told FedEx not to redirect so in other words you can't have it sent to a FedEx store for pickup at a later date talking the Drone nerds is like talking to robots they didn't want to help me in any way shape or form.. this will be the last time I ever used this company

My drone showed up and was not…
My drone showed up and was not evaluated according to their policy for 7 to 10 days. And after that, they realized that they needed to reach out to DJI for parts and camera configurations, which would take approximately another week or so. I was a bit baffled why it wasn’t evaluated day one then put it on the shelf for any parts that are needed so when there 7 to 10 day evaluation or bench working came about they were been better prepared to replace repair and calibrate my equipment.
I think the company is good the people were friendly, but I’m not happy about their business organization

Hi Albert,
We are sorry to hear about the negative experience. We just wanted to clear up what is happening here. The way DJI manufactures these products, they do something called serialization. That is, they essentially "marry" two parts together. In this case, it is the camera gimbal control board and the drone's main controller board.
Unfortunately, DJI currently is the only one equipped to re-serialize parts, as they use their own proprietary equipment. The process has no additional cost to you but has the unfortunate side effect that we must send the drone to them after repairs are complete in order for them to perform this process. Fortunately, they are able to ship the drone directly to you once they perform this essential step.
We would be happy to discuss this further to hopefully make you feel more at ease with this process and do anything else we can to make you feel whole. We wish we could skip this step, but DJI has made this mandatory in their newer product designs.
Kind Regards,
Drone Nerds Support

Repairs took much longer than expected. Drone was misplaced in the shop.
Drone Nerds received my broken drone on April 1. I made several calls to get a status after the 2 weeks that the site said it could take to get to it. Some said they would look into it. Finally on a subsequent call some body "found" the drone under a tech's desk and the tech was not there. Another call someone said they would have someone look at it and send a quote which I immediately authorized. A few days later I made another call and THEN someone promised and actually made the repairs and FedEx it overnight. Bottom line is that I got it back 4 weeks after I sent it in which was almost 4 weeks after it was received by Drone Nerds. The promotions that I heard made is sound like it would have been much better service. I wonder if Drone Nerd service uses, or should use, a ticket tracking system that flags tickets that haven't been serviced in a given time.

John - sincere apologies for the inconvenience you experienced. We will make sure that our Service Center reviews your feedback, which we sincerely appreciate, and improves its storage and sorting process. We do have a very large volume of repairs but you are correct that this should not have taken such a long time. Our Service Center does use a Zendesk ticket system that automatically escalates tickets after a fixed amount of time goes by without action. We will ask our IT team to look into the escalation timeframes and see if there's room for improvement in that area as well. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to service your drone. Happy flying!
