I got this service to be able to better communicate with various Government and other agencies. If they can't fax me because the incoming number doesn't work I'm not sure what the point is. (I was on the phone while the repeated attempts were made and it gave a fast busy like it was 'not in service'.) The price is too high to have this problem and also they should have 'a step down' in costs for fewer faxes per month. If one is sending less than 10-20 faxes a month that makes for pretty expensive faxes. Some months I send under 5, that's still 4$+ each and without being able to receive incoming faxes from Gov agencies in reply I'm not sure if it makes sense to continue. I suggest a plan for 25 or fewer total faxes and maybe another one for maybe 50 or less? Note: it can sometimes take 20-40 mins for a fax to go through, I might send it at 6am (when the agency / gov fax is not likely busy) and it wont send me an email of completion or show the copy in the sent folder until nearly 7am or something like that. I wind up wasting quite a bit of time wondering what happened. The eFax agent was nice and helpful and tried to show that faxes can be made but if the gov can't fax me back it should be fixed asap or money for months of membership should be at least half refunded (or credited toward future while waiting for the fix). Unfortunately because of who the gov is they don't always tell us by phone or email or otherwise when there's a problem; they might have if they could have reached me by fax. This should be tested and if it's an ongoing problem they should put up a disclaimer and send an email to all users making us aware of the ongoing issue with Gov agencies so we can start looking for another service. The agent didn't say they'd check into the issue and I had to tell her someone already admitted to another issue with forwarding faxes... So clearly not everything is or has been working and only some of the agents are 'clear' about that. PS: It'd be good to know also if we would always have access to our faxes as members or not. ----------------------------------------------- Update: 2/22 So as you can see they did reach out to me and emailed to discuss the situation in greater detail. The 'send time' they seemed to attribute to documents which might have sent 'like an image' instead of 'like a document' but I still wouldn't have had that many or even in every fax so still not quite sure what that issue is on the length of time to send.. eFax did mention whatever issues might be 'ongoing' at the moment and offer a work-around of using their Canadian Site until some of the things were working. I admit I'm not as inclined to try to log-in to another site at this point. It'd be better to just fix the US site. They also offered a way to amend the loss of services, so that is good. The challenge on my end is that I can't really 'make up' a reason to call a Gov Agency without drawing unwanted attention so in order for this to be tested again, an actual issue would have to arise. I did ask the Gov Agency to please try with and without a 1 when she was getting the 'fast busy' signal (as tho the number did not exist), so all I can do is try again when the chance appears. i can write a more full report then. Apparently some places can't send to 'virtual fax numbers' so I'll have to see if i can find more about that. I think once the fixes are done and I can test some of the other things more thoroughly again with success in a 'real' situation I'll be able to raise the rating.
