My Husband and I went to Exxon-Star Stop in Sugar Land, TX. We brought some scratch offs at the Exxon Station-Star Stop at 13233 Diary Ashford Road. We went back to the station to cash in our scratch offs. Since the attendant had a customer, we went to the self scanner. The self scanner showed that we won $60. So after the customer left. I went to the counter to redeem the money from the ticket. The attendant-Sam advised me he had shut down his register and unable to pay us the $60 owed from the scratch offs, advised us to go to Walmart. My husband decided we needed to get gas, so went to the Shell station. I went in and gave the attendant my scratch offs. She gave me the money from two of them that amounted to $15 dollars, but the one with the $50 had already been paid. I was confused, because we still had the scratch off and never received $50. So we went back to the Exxon station to confront the attendant about the ticket. Advised him we were told by the attendant at Shell that the ticket had already been paid. He lied and said he didnt know what happened, he didnt have our money. I believe he saw the $50 on his side of the counter and took our money, and claimed he closed the register out. When we advised him that we were going to report his actions, he said he didnt care. Please, check the cameras at this location, you can see what he did with the register, and that we never got our $50. The point for this is for others that he has done this to that didn't report him, or to keep this from happening to someone else. This station needs to be investigated immediately. Someone in the CEO office needs to check into this. I would appreciate at response in this matter. Thank you

You cannot talk to a live agent. I was in the live chat and the agent gave me a canned response and left the chat. I did not know I was typing for nothing. The thread. ExxonMobil Support 03:41 PM Hello! Welcome to ExxonMobil Customer Helpdesk. I'm your ExxonMobil Virtual Assistant, and my goal is to provide you with the best fueling experience. This chat will be recorded for quality assurance and data verification purposes. ExxonMobil Support 03:41 PM Please select from the following menu options: Tap to choose Station Experience ExxonMobil Rewards+™ Any Other Concerns Customer Rose: 03:41 PM Any Other Concerns ExxonMobil Support 03:41 PM To make sure I connect you with the right support team, could you please share a bit more detail about the reason for your chat today? Customer Rose: 03:42 PM Exxon has a hold of 100 to not to be released until the 7th of May. Green Dot Apple Cash cannot release your hold placed on my funds. Please release immediately ExxonMobil Support 03:42 PM You are now being transferred. AGENT (Aljon) joined Aljon 03:43 PM Good day, Rose. This is Aljon from ExxonMobil. I understand you’re concerned about hold amount. Is that correct? Customer Rose: 03:44 PM Yes, for no reason should exxon hold my 100 for 7 days. Aljon 03:44 PM I'm sorry to hear that. Aljon 03:45 PM But no worries, we can help you submit a report about that. Aljon 03:45 PM This looks like a pre‑authorization hold, which is standard when paying at the pump. Aljon 03:46 PM Can we have the address of the station please? Customer Rose 03:46 PM one moment please Aljon 03:46 PM Sure. Aljon 03:48 PM The $100 hold is a pre-authorization hold, which is a standard process used to confirm available funds when a card is used at the pump. These holds are typically released within 3 to 5 business days, though some banks may take longer. Aljon 03:49 PM The hold is triggered by the station's system and managed by your financial institution according to your bank's policies and card network rules. If the hold remains after this timeframe, you should contact your card issuer for assistance, as they are the best point of contact to help resolve it. AGENT (Aljon) left Customer Rose: 03:49 PM I have spent from Thursday until today trying to get the pending charges removed Customer Rose : 03:50 PM Green dot apple cash, sees the pending transaction and Exxon has a pending until 5/7 not the card holder Customer Rose : 03:51 PM I am 76 and on a fixed income. If I could put a 0, I would. I don't usually write bad reviews, but this experience was very sad. I chatted with 2 online chats to get help logging in to my rewards, and they were unable to help because someone else used my phone number under their name, and now I cannot use/login to rewards for the entirety of owning this phone. When I tried asking further questions about it, they "left the chat" immediately before I could even press send. This happened with 2 different people. For the entirety of my life owning this phone or anyone else with this #, I cannot use any of my rewards at any gas station. I think it's a bit silly, honestly.

Based on all that I have read about ExxonMobil. It is clear that the company is well established and is doing very well in their line of business to date.

ExxonMobil’s customer service is among the worst in the UK. I genuinely don’t understand how their subsidiary, Esso, remains a major Nectar partner. I also discovered that MFG is linked to Esso and is likewise owned by ExxonMobil. I contacted them in late August 2025, providing proof of my fuel receipts and requesting that the Nectar points I was owed be added retrospectively. My email was completely ignored. On two separate occasions, I visited both an Esso and an MFG fuel station in the early hours of the morning. However, due to an ongoing issue at both brands—where only pre-paid fuel transactions are accepted at the till window—these purchases appear on receipts simply as “Prepay – Pump 1” or “Prepay – Pump 4.” As a result, Nectar does not recognise these transactions as valid fuel purchases, and the associated points are never credited to the customer’s Nectar account.
