In an agreemet to purchase a dog from the breeder Good Dog wanted a deposit which is normal. They were given my American Express card information. Not only did they charge my card for the deposit they charged the full amount of payment at the same time and we were not picking up the dog for 2 weeks. [October 24th].They did this without my permission. They had only ask for the deposit.

We’re glad to see that our Care Team has already reached out by email to walk through your payment history and help with next steps, and we’re sorry for the frustration this caused. We completely understand that paying the full balance two weeks before pickup wasn’t what you intended. To clarify how payments work: charges through Good Dog can only be processed when a checkout is opened and submitted from the buyer’s own account. Neither Good Dog nor breeders can charge a card on their own, and card details aren’t stored for future charges. Our records show two separate checkouts were completed, one for the deposit and one for the remaining balance. If you’d prefer to pay closer to pickup, your breeder can refund the second payment directly from their account, and you can request this through your Good Dog Messages tab. Good Dog was easy to select a breeder in my location and find the perfect dog! We selected Canyon Rose Schnauzers! The breeder Michelle was outstanding to work with! Trusted and felt very comfortable! Our little girl is adjusting quickly to her new home! She’s very calm, smart and has adjusted to her surroundings quickly! Good dog provided a place to research the right dog for us. I liked that I could feel safe with payments, communication and pet choice. The pickup was the most heartwarming adoption of a pet I’ve ever had. Our puppy was so confident and friendly. He was clearly raised from a good breeder. His temperament is so easygoing and playful.

Great experience with both the Good Dog app and Breeder Shannon Johnson. Both provided very useful information about care for my new pup. Shannon continues to answer my questions. The Good Dog app is easy to use and secure.
