When I first signed up for Alpha, I was under the impression that my medication would come in the mail every month at a specified date. This is actually what happened for the first few months, but then for some reason, around the fourth or fifth month, I would have to remind Alpha to send my medication. This normally happened when I was running low on my current dose of Venlafaxine (Effexor) and realized that the new month's supply might not make it to me on time. A couple of weeks ago, I ran into the same situation: I was running low on my current prescription of Venalfaxine, and when the new month's supply hadn't come in the mail yet, I messaged Alpha a few of days before my then current supply ran out. After two or three days of waiting, they responded and said that they were sending out my new prescription, but it was too late. It did not arrive before I ran out of my Venlafaxine pills for the month. Since this is one of the hardest antidepressants to come off of in terms of side effects, the withdrawal I felt during the two days when I didn't have my medication was brutal. Crazy brain zaps, intense vertigo, insane mood swings...I could barely function. I couldn't work. I felt miserable. Eventually, my new month supply made it to me, but the pain I felt while it wasn't there was terrible. Alpha should have mailed me my prescription in a timely manner, but they failed to do so. They're unreliable and unstable.
