I wanted to write an updated review because I have now passed the USMLE Step 1, and I truly owe so much of my success to Dr. Damania's USMLE Step 1 Pass/Fail Course. When I first discovered Hyguru, I left a review after seeing significant improvements in my NBME practice exam scores. Looking back now, I can confidently say that the course didn't just help me improve my scores, it helped me achieve my ultimate goal of passing Step 1. Since then, I have recommended this course to numerous classmates and fellow medical students preparing for the CBSE and Step 1. Where do I even begin! I only had 1 month with Dr Damania for STEP2 prep. I reached out to him as my last hail mary because I was struggling and approaching my test date quickly. In ONE MONTH he took me from sub 230 to above a 250. Yup!! If only I had reached out earlier and not been stubborn about doing it on my own, I probably could have scored even higher! Not only is he an incredibly mentor on a human-level - kind, patient, understanding, motivating, encouraging, and so proud of is his students - he is also very intelligent. He KNOWS what he is talking about. His methods work, no doubt about it. I tried out a couple other tutoring resources and they were highly inferior compared to Dr. Damania. His methodology is so precise and intentional... I've never seen anything like it. TRUST THE PROCESS. His videos are detailed enough without being 1 hour long and boring you to death, his FAB 5 method of reviewing incorrect answers was literally life saving, and his very particular way of paraphrasing Qs and predicting answers is GENIUS. I passed USMLE Step 1, and I wanted to share my experience with HyGuru. I used many different study resources during my preparation, but HyGuru stood out because of the way difficult concepts were explained. Instead of just asking students to memorize facts, Rahul focuses on helping you understand the underlying logic, which made it much easier for me to retain information. The explanations are clear, organized, and focused on what is actually high yield for Step 1. I won't say that any single resource is enough to pass Step 1, but HyGuru was definitely one of the resources that made a real difference in my preparation. I'm grateful for the effort Rahul puts into creating educational content, and I would recommend his videos to anyone preparing for the USMLE. Thank you, Rahul, for helping me reach this milestone.

Dr. Damania's lecture was very concise and had high yield topics that we've either seen on the shelf's or the NBME's. Great review to brush up knowledge that is good to have at the back of your hand on test day.

Dr. Damania was a pivotal and critical part of my medical school journey. I started tutoring with him during Step 1 prep, and jumped over 10 percentage points in my first two weeks working with him. What I learned from our session got me through clinical rotations with honoring over half of my shelves, then I worked with him again for step 2 and got a 261 (from a 240 practice exam). The thing that sets him apart from all other study methods, is that he teaches you how to think like a test maker and the strategy behind how to get every type right. And, he does this through teaching material that I had seen in Anki one million times but never really learned how to apply it. His course and tutoring helped me score high on exams, yes, but he made me a better student overall and likely, a better doctor because I see medicine in a while new way. Everyone needs this course!
