I rarely leave negative reviews
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this hiring experience deserves one. I spent approximately 3–4 hours completing the application process, including assessments, a computer proficiency test, and a one-way recorded video interview. At no point did I speak with an actual recruiter or hiring manager. Everything was automated. The biggest issue isn't that I wasn't selected. Rejection is part of applying for jobs, and I accept that. My concern is that the hiring process is unnecessarily long and places a significant burden on applicants before any human interaction takes place. The video interview felt more like an audition for a presenter than an evaluation for a customer service representative. It seemed designed to measure how well someone performs in front of a camera rather than how effectively they would communicate with real customers over the phone. For a customer service position, I believe practical communication skills, problem-solving ability, professionalism, and customer focus should matter far more than an AI-scored performance in a recorded interview. Companies have every right to use technology to streamline hiring, but applicants' time also has value. Asking candidates to invest several hours into automated assessments before a single conversation with a human recruiter is, in my opinion, excessive and discouraging. I hope Working Solutions reviews its hiring process and finds a better balance between efficiency and respect for applicants' time.
