LavuReviews of lavu.com

Unfortunately this is one time the ball got dropped and my Merchant had to pay the price. I can honestly commend Mir for stepping up and pushing thorough the paperwork that could have been done before he had to work through a losing battle of disconnect. You can do everything right on the front end but if the backend doesn’t have their part done it won’t work no matter how hard you try. Mir was part of a Learning Curve today he won’t forget. So hats off to him for pushing through today. Hopefully the overnight reset for the servers will pick up the new serial number for activation. Just another day in POS land. This happened today 7/7/26 but was called in on Sunday 7/5/26

The team is not good.

I have been a Lavu customer for ten years. The service itself is quite good- I have very few outtages, and they are usually resolved quickly. The one big problem with Lavu, though, is their billing. Every year, usually around Christmas time, they add something new to their features that increases the montly bill by at least 50%. Instead of opting in to new services, they inundate their customers with so much email that it either can't be kept up with, or goes to spam. There's a small note toward the end of the email mentioning that you need to 'opt out' of this new charge (the last one was $59 added to my monthly bill). I caught the additional charge as soon as I saw it on my credit card statement, but they refused to remove the charge from my bill, putting the onus of responsibility on the customer for not catching the fine print in one of their many emails in time. I truly expected them to refund me in good faith, that my length of time as a customer there, never missing a bill, etc. would have garnered some kind of loyalty. Nope. They just take your money at Christmas

Overall, Lavu is an ok system, but very elementary. Their reports look pretty much like an elementary student typed them out and quite hard to follow. Before we had the system installed we asked for specific items which we were told they could do, but no. So we got stuck with the system to the point, I had to break the contract to get another system of much more common sense. Kitchen tickets for a good handful of our pizzas are a mess, and Lavu says that how their program works, and nothing they can do with the tickets in how they look. They don't have caller ID, so when a customer calls in, each and every time they ask for a delivery or pickup, we have to ask for their information...not good. I could go on and on, but you get the point. Just please ask for proof they can do something or you are permited to get out of the contract. Two of the biggest issues is when you call into support, they say "Restaurants #1 POS"...what? I'd like to know legally where they can say that...umm, no way. Most other POS companies hadn't heard of them nor had I when I saw them advertise on Instagram....I bought into it. The Ipads are too small, support folks are in India, so many of the times they are hard to understand....sorry. Not knocking because they are from India, but not who I want to speak with when I need technical help in a loud busy restaurant, but they are very very nice when helping. I noticed they have lots of videos out with people doing TikTok. Really? Maybe you should spend time developing better software than trying to be cute. One girl who is on there quite a bit lies saying she owns a busy restaurant because she is in several other videos and apparently works there. Overall, I really dislike the system. It doesn't work in my pizzeria for some critical things needed.

Our restaurant has been using Lavu since opening about 13 years ago. Customer service and the account reps have been a pain point for the entirety of that time. Recently we attempted to make the transition to LavuPay. We were promised a smooth transition and “white glove service” support. While we didn’t expect everything to go perfectly, implementation was an absolute disaster and we had to revert back to our old payment processing platform out of necessity and no fault of our own after a week. “White glove service” was anything but helpful and caused countless hours of unnecessary work, our previously responsive account rep became difficult to get ahold of, did not follow up or through on tasks and we generally lost a significant amount of faith in Lavu. Oddly enough, after such a horrible experience, we haven’t heard a word from Lavu in terms of trying to repair the broken trust this situation caused.

the onboarding process has been very difficult. equipment has been on site for several weeks and it is still not functioning. my onboarding rep has missed several appointments to complete the setup. i am currently paying for two pos systems, and at this point i am wishing that i would have gone with a different system.

Printers don't work, no service rep and all help is over the phone

Well a bad router and bad customer service left a bad taste in my mouth...the router that they sold me was the culprit for a terrible transition into the LAVU software. The sold me a bad router...which they were aware of once I paid for a network engineer to solve the issue...you think they could have reimbursed me for the router? No because my employee threw out the box... A lame excuse left a bad taste in my mouth. Too bad because I’d probably still be with them...
