I placed an order with Lensrentals and then received an email requesting my employment information, an official work or school email address, and links to my websites and social media accounts before approving the rental. I previously rented from BorrowLenses without being asked for these personal details. I felt this request was intrusive for a lens rental and was uncomfortable providing the information, so I requested cancellation and a full refund. These approval requirements should be clearly disclosed before customers place an order. The experience left me disappointed and unwilling to proceed with the rental.

I haven't yet used the equipment, so I hope it all works. But I came with a very difficult order and I must say, Max and Jenna helped me enormously. I was all over the place, my bags everywhere, no idea how to carry anything or do anything, and they were very patient and helpful. Great people.

We'd been customers of Borrow Lenses for over 5 years when we needed something for a film project this summer. We were happy with Borrow Lenses and wondered how it would go with the new owners. We under tight deadline and missed the FedEx delivery first thing in the morning. They called FedEx and pushed them to redeliver later in the afternoon instead of waiting until the following day. When we had trouble properly balancing a stabilizer, their support team was a huge help, even on the weekend. When we decided to just buy the shotgun mic rather than return it because filming was going longer than expected, they helped us with a small discount code because of the stabilizer trouble. Throughout the process, their communication and customer service were first rate, actually even better than we remembered from Borrow Lenses. We'll definitely be future customers when we need something else.

Multiple times they have sent me broken used gear while rating it as acceptable. They do not have proper quality assurance and at this point should not be relied upon for anything that you may actually want to use in a professional setting. I simply cannot have gear that is just bought from them go down on set. Their unprofessional nature should not be a reflection on me. Shame on me I guess. Very frustrating and annoying to have to return used products when they could just be up front about the condition of the item. I will not use them ever again and I’d advise industry professionals to do the same. It’s one thing if I break something but broken straight from the box is absurd.

What could have turned into a complete disaster became the reason I trust LensRentals more, because their team stepped in quickly and took responsibility when it mattered. My large rental order was not delivered on time as a fedex driver didnt knock on my door and just left a notice saying they missed me, it was captured on camera, not having it arrive on time caused real stress, lost preparation time, and financial loss before a professional job. Because the gear arrived late, I did not have the proper time I normally need to inspect everything, test it, organize it, and prepare calmly. That said, LensRentals’ team took the situation seriously. They jumped in, the same day, took responsibility for the loss, and overnighted what was needed so I did not miss the entire rehearsal day. That mattered a lot. Even though the delay created real problems for me, the way their team responded built trust. They put the customer first in the best way they could under the circumstances, and took care of what was needed to cover what i lost financially and because of that, I would feel comfortable using them again.

Scam... classic bait-and-switch

good communication but they don't guarantee a deliver date so i needed it by Monday since i was flying out of the country on Tuesday. So i had to have arrive Friday to make sure i got before i left on a photography trip . They charged extra 3 days but when i returned it 2 days early they did not give me a credit .
