This company gives you such a hard time when you try to cancel your service. I called earlier in the year and I got my price lowered for a year. This month the bill came in 5 dollars higher. I know it doesn't sound like much, but the point is, they can't be trusted. I called to get this resolved and was told it was a rate increase. Advise since they broke their end of our deal, I want to cancel. Was advised I needed to contact yet another number to cancel after the rep had spent 20 minutes trying to change my mind. Where are the lawyers out there? There should be a class action lawsuit against Dish for making it difficult to cancel. I guess I have to call again later.

This is really between a 3-5 depending…
This is really between a 3-5 depending on the circumstances of my contact.
As far as customer service, I am disappointed with the BOT first. When I call, it takes forever with asked questions on the reason for my call. They usually do not apply to me. When I finally get transferred, the bot will ask if I want to hold in que, or be called back later. If I I want to wait online, it says to tap any number. or it is the #1. Anyway, I do what the bot says. But, instead of keeping me on hold, it tells me I will be called back. I called back twice, to see if I was misunderstanding the direction to stay on the phone to wait. I was doing it correctly! Then I finally called, and it tells me to hit any key to be transferred to the agent. I did. Instead, it says, “we tried calling you, and sorry we missed you. We will call back later!” So frustrating!!!
THE GREAT THING: I HAD ROSE FIX US UP WITH A NEW PLAN. SHE WAS AWESOME. KIND AND HELPFU. SHE SEEMED KNOWLEDGEABLE. I HAD A BIT OF TROUBLE UNDERSTANDING HER, BUT SHE DID NOT GET UPSET. SHE JUST REPEATED WHAT SHE SAID.
SHE IS THE ONE CUSTOMER SERVICE, OR LOYALTY PERSON THAT EVERYONE SHOULD EMULATE.
I GIVE HER, 5 STARS, AND DISH, 4 STARS. EVERY TV PROVIDER HAS THE SAME NASTY REVIEWS. THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH ALL COMPANIES WITH AN ONLINE PRESENCE. DISH IS STILL BETTER THAN ANY OTHER TV, MOVIE PROVIDER.
DISH just needs to make speaking to someone, making those “someone's,” well trained, and customer focused. Maybe having a dedicated number for those people who have legit problems. Some may be competitors or just mean people. The date I put in is not exact. I called a few times to speak on the plans.
I still like DISH better than other providers or streamers, that I have spoken with.

Washing the Dishes
In Columbus Georgia. STARLINK INTERNET is installed by Dish Network.
The Dish rep, 19 year old Mat from Alabama, assured me that the 100 year old oaks shading my entire property would not hinder the satellite signal.
"Our satellites fly much lower, and can see through the trees."
"Hmmmm," I thought to myself. Seems like that would be in their ads, thought this old advertising man from UGA.
Well, Mat had alternative facts after all.
And my system drops out every three minutes. And Mat left before testing the TV, which freezes up with every blip in the signal flow.
So I have switched to Verison. And opened a dispute with my credit card billing. And Dish needs to text me to come pick up equipment.
Takeaway:
Run away from STARLINK
Run away from Dish
See Verison at Peachtree Mall instead.

DISH - deceptive business practices, now using bait and switch to swindle this senior citizen!
I was a happy Dish Network customer for over 20 years but the company has changed in a bad way. One of the most irritating things about the company today is that they make it impossible to terminate service without talking to a customer support person; you can't simply cancel online to avoid the hard sell and drama. So, when I reached out recently to cancel because monthly fees had gotten too high, I wasn't surprised when the customer support rep offered a special deal on a new package with "more channels". The price discount he offered was substantial enough that I bit on the offer and agreed to a new two-year deal. It turned out that the new package was missing a few key channels that we enjoy watching but by the time I realized the new channel package was actually inferior to the old, I had missed my cancellation window by a few days. Dish had managed to "bait and switch" me with their special offer; I'm usually wary of deceptive tactics like this one, but they managed to pull one over on me. So, my cancellation ended up costing me $240 ($10 x 24 months for cancelling my "new" package early). Beware when you deal with Dish, Dish Network or mydish, as they will hose you if you give them the chance. signed: 20-year loyal customer who will never do business with Dish again.

Worst customer service
I was with Dish for over 20 yrs.
The price jumped from $89.95 to $139.95. I checked the site for better offers, but found none. I checked out DirecTV and they had a package for $39.95 including Disney+, Hulu, and HBO.
When I canceled my Dish service they told me there was a $25 return fee for my equipment!!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO DISH.

Read the contact, they will charge you for their own equipment to be mailed back.
I opened my dish service 3 years ago. And I have had bad service ever since I got dish. First they don't tell you that you have to get a certain plan in order to get hopper, and everything they offer. No you just get old equipment that has been refurbished and that's about it. They won't tell you that you are going to be charged 25 dollars to ship their own equipment back to them, but they don't want the dish back, that's your problem of how to get rid of it. When you call to see if you are going to be charged anything after your last bill, they said a bill hasn't been generated yet so they don't know. When you ask if you're going to be charged for anything else they said no. But I got a bill after my last dish bill for almost 25 dollars. That's so you the consumer can pay their shipping for them to get their equipment back. They did even know if I was under a contract or not. Seems like all they will tell you is a pack of lies, and rip you off. Now they want to offer phone service, Internet service and dish. If you have Internet service you don't need dish these days because you more than likely have a smart TV and you can get a lot of free TV on it. I would get dish, or phone service or Internet from dish network ever again. If you have to have an attorney to read a contract, I'm telling you it's not going to be in your favor. Dish network was and is a horrible business that's only after your money. Thank you for letting me voice my opinion of this terrible company.

Dish is horrible place to get services…
Dish is horrible place to get services from. They gave incorrect information when calling and speaking with a rep. They also charge a ridiculous amount when you have to cancel your service in extreme circumstances. O would not recommend them at all.

Please do not use Dish Network
Please do not use Dish Network. After being a customer for over 5 years, Dish offered me free Netflix. I accepted, but they didn't tell me about the "catch." My agreement was about to be up. I had one more month. I didn't know that though. The next month they raised my rate substantially and told me I had agreed to a 2 year contract to get the free Netflix. I said that I hadn't and although they record every call, they wouldn't prove to me that they had told me about a new contract, or that I had agreed to it. They try to rip off Senior Citizens with this scam. I've been fighting with them for over a year. For your own protection NEVER use Dish. Also, you're not talking to anyone in this country. The people you talk to just use scripts to keep putting you off. If you want to deal with a bad business and bad customer service, call Dish. A 100% honest recap!
