Don't recommend for small + mid size nonprofits
Not the right fit for small or mid-sized nonprofits We don’t recommend NeonOne for small or mid-sized nonprofits. Having worked in customer service and sales, I know there is usually flexibility in how a company handles individual cases. Instead, we were consistently pointed back to the contract language and told we could not be released from it. That is their right. We explained that we had not used the product for months and that, as a small nonprofit, every dollar matters to us. We had also paid a one-time fee the previous year for a service we never used. That was our mistake, but we noted that NeonOne had already benefited meaningfully from our business. We asked whether they would allow us to terminate early so we could redirect those funds to our programs. We even asked about ending just two months early. Each time, we were told the contract did not allow it. Again, this was entirely within their rights. Ultimately, though, we felt treated as a revenue source rather than as a grassroots organization they were there to support. If you’re a small nonprofit, read the contract terms carefully before signing, and don’t count on any flexibility later.
