Pawp answered my questions and put my mind at ease. My rotti recently had surgery and I was able to take care of her without unnecessary stress of an emergency vet visit. Exactly what we needed.

Kristin, we're so glad Pawp was able to put your mind at ease! We hope your rotti is feeling better. 😊 🐾 ❤️

I called for assistance because my dog was coughing and hacking. The individual who helped me was knowledgeable and helped ease my worries. Everything has worked out just as she said. Thanks.

This was the fourth time we contacted pawp for our cat Cole who had been unable to have a bowel movement for 6 days, despite straining and passing only mucus. During our last chat we discussed how Cole had stopped eating, drinking and was becoming more lethargic with involuntary contractions passing only mucus from below. We wanted to take him to an emergency vet for evaluation as we were concerned he may be obstructed, not just constipated. However, because he was not literally dying in front of us the vet tech refused to release emergency funding despite this being a life threatening situation as his obstruction could lead to perforation. She offered no advice except to seek medical attention as soon as possible but refused to classify it as an emergency. As a general surgeon myself, I can personally tell you that a 6 day bowel obstruction is an emergency and should have been classified as such; and rather than help the pets they insure, pawp incentivizes users to wait to seek medical attention until their pets are in peril if they want to be able to have any financial help with said emergency. We took Cole to the emergency to find out that he had an obstruction requiring ICU admission and immediate intervention that would cost us thousands of dollars. And where was our emergency pet insurance coverage? Never released. Given this extremely frustrating experience, I will be cancelling my pawp membership, and so will the rest of my family (4 others). We have learned that we were paying for a worthless service, thinking that pawp would help us financially when our pets are in need of emergency services (bowel obstruction/blockage even listed as one of their emergencies), however their strict definition of emergency is suspect, and allows for them to refuse access to funds unless you let your pet suffer to near death prior to calling them. They should be ashamed of this misleading ‘emergency coverage’ (that is essentially not accessible), and I would NOT recommend this insurance to anyone. It is a scam. Put your money in a savings account, you are better off then throwing it down the drain with this fake emergency insurance from pawp.

We're so sorry you had a negative experience. We would love to learn more so that we can hopefully learn, grow and make sure this does not happen again in the future. We care about our members and pets deeply. Please reach out to [email protected] to set up a time to speak with our team.

Three in the morning and our dog was extremely sick. We called Pawp, instantly connected and sent to an emergency vet. IV fluids, tests, medicine given and the entire bill paid by Pawp. So very thankful. Excellent service and worked as expected. Nov 22 update: Our dog is back to normal. The vet said she ate something poison. We almost lost her and would have if we had taken a "wait and see" stance instead of following the Pawp vet's advice.

Called for an appointment after our puppy was getting sick (multiple times that day). Waited a few minutes to be connected to someone and was able to share what was going on with the vet. After a video call and completing a few assessments with our dog, I was given some suggestions on what to continue to look for and instructions on when to call back. It was quick, easy, and made me feel much better about what might have been going on with our precious pup!
