I recently went into PGS with a lot of gold and silver jewelry… I thought at the time I received a good deal from them and returned with a full set of silverware again I thought I received a good deal from them…I had a GoPro hero black creators addition. PGS’s website says they buy electronics new and used. This GoPro had been used 3 times and had all of its components in perfect condition. They wanted to give me $40 or $60 dollars for it😑absolutely not… I left there with my GoPro, no deal. Got 3 times the amt PGS quoted for the GoPro at ezpawn of all places, and they were awesome btw. I had several more pieces of gold and silver jewelry with diamonds and other gem stones and had received a recommendation to contact Torbeck Jewelry Appraisals … I did, He came to my home and was able to appraise my entire collection including the diamonds and gems as well as cut me a check on the spot for what I wanted to part with. The amount that I was quoted by Mr Torbeck was actually hundreds more than I had been quoted by PGS for the same types of jewelry, diamonds and gems. I wish I would have known to contact Torbeck Jewelry Appraisals in the first place. The jewelry, and silverware were from an estate, parting with those pieces was hard but necessary and being confident that I got the most I could have from them monetarily was important to our family. I thought that I was on the right page with PGS based on the website and the information I was provided by the staff… I found out that I was not.

Went to their 'buying event' in Orland Park. Please do not waste your time dealing with this place. They are totally unprofessional and condescending. You will NOT receive anywhere near the value of your items. For this place to stay in business,there must be many gullible people on this Earth. Again, don't waste your time.

Hello, I have some old coins that I would like to sell. Can you take them?

I asked PGS to evaluate my collection that contained the items listed on their website (see below) in very good condition. They took it, held for a several weeks, and told me they were not interested without evaluation/appraisal (which I didn't mind paying for). I was not in a hurry, but... I didn't mean just storage but appraisal. PGS states this : "Perhaps you’ve already resigned to sell your stamp collection or parent’s stamp collection, but aren’t sure who buys stamps near you, so that old box of stamps remains in storage with no use to anyone. Maybe there was a point you already tried to sell your stamps or stamp collection, only to find there was little interest and few resources in your area to inquire of. Did you ask neighbors, friends & family “Is there a stamp dealer near me that buys stamps?”. When you are ready to sell your stamp collection, PGS Gold & Coin stamp buyers have multiple coin shop locations where you can have your stamps appraised, and where you can sell the whole stamp collection. PGS GOLD & COIN STAMP BUYERS COLLECT THESE TYPES OF STAMPS: Mounted Foreign Stamp Collections China, Korea, and Asia Stamps British and European Colonies Russia..." If nothing else, I wanted to know what my stamps were worth (in their estimate). Their radio ad, "PGS, PGS, when it comes to your valuables, it's the best" might be true for themselves but not for me.

I stopped by their Schaumburg, IL store with the intent of selling 40 silver dollars that were minted with pure silver and are therefore worth more than their face value. I met with Dave Loperena to handle the transaction. He was friendly and very professional. All my questions were answered, and he offered me a rate that was virtually identical to the price I found online. A quick and painless transaction.

Scott straight up is a really good guy. He helped me pick out some coins today for my nephews and hooked me up with some really cool gifts to give to the kids. They’re going to love them. The radio show is very informative and I’ve learned a lot just by listening to him on there. I’m definitely coming back to buy more stuff!! Thanks again for all your help today one more thing knocked off the Christmas list.😊
