This is by far the worst company I have ever been affiliated with. There is absolutely nothing positive about SCE.
They only care about money and never about anyone’s wellbeing. They shit off power for over 50 hours and claim it’s due to the wind and their power lines. When the neighborhood right across the street has power. Every year this happens multiple times. They even shit power off a few years ago on thanksgiving. It’s absolute BS that they are the only electrical company we can go with. Bunch of POS.

They deserve less than one star
They deserve less than one star. People have died in fires because of this company's gross incompetence. There are third world grids more reliable.

Crooks
I switched from a Time-of-Use plan to a Tiered rate plan to save money. When I stay under my published Tier 1 allocation, they often decrease my allocation by 1/3 so that I'm forced to pay Tier 2 prices for a lot of my usage. And no way to contact them - their phone line gives you the usual automated runaround. Crooks.

S.C.E defrauds thousand of customers in a fake free appliances scam
S.C.E does not want "constructive suggestions", as they are too busy defrauding their customers.
DETAILS:
So. Cal. Edison pretends to give "free appliances" to qualifying SCE customers. After approving the application, they refer the customer to John Harrison Inc, a contractor in Banning, CA. The contract for the delivery of appliances is between the customer and JHI. SCE is not a part of the contract. A middle woman (Tracy Landry) is in the contract, faking "home inspections" for appliance deliveries. John Harrison is named as the contractor in the contract, but he does ot sign it. There is no box for his signature, indicating that the contract was designed to exclude his signature. Tracy Landry signed as a "Representative", though in emails to me she stated she was an independent contractor, not affiliated with SCE or JHI. John Harrison can not be reached. He does not respond to calls, emails, faxes. I qualified for a refrigerator and gas heater. Despite multiple efforts, nothing was delivered to me. When I complained to the BBB and the CA Contractor's Licensing Board, SCE sent me a notice stating they withdrew their appliance approval. The notice does not give a cause. It was arbitrary, and in violation of several laws. Only if the Program is eliminated and/or funds are exhausted, SCE can withdraw. Neither one was the case.
The contract between John Harrison and me is loaded with fraud elements, from lack of Harrison's signature, to invalid timing of the appliance delivery, plus intentionally deceptive. The Licensing Board disregarded all evidence in my favor, and closed the case without due process, without acceptance of exhibits documenting fraud beyond any doubt. John Harrison did not reply to the Contractor Board's demand to respond to my complaint, yet the Board disregarded that, eliminating the evidence that John Harrison lost the case by default, in addition to violating the contract.
I found many complaints in the internet against SCE and JHI, with exactly the same scam/fraud stories. SCE and John Harrison planned this fraud jointly, knowing that the Contractors Board would never investigate. I am confident the CA Contractors Licensing Board closed many complaints of this nature, by disregarding all evidence material against Edison and JHI. This case is a class action case. There are thousands of victims out there, I suspect. All defrauded the same way by S.C.E and JHI.
The funds for this (fake) program come from the government. By not delivering the "free appliances" to SCE customers, SCE and JHI keep the funds in their own pockets. Thousands of SCE customers have been defraued by this very well-crafted FRAUD, amounting to millions of USD by now.
CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN PROGRESS. CONTACT ME PLEASE IF YOU HAVE BEEN VICTIMIZED AS WELL. Message me via TrustPilot please.

Costs going up like the housing market
I get that summer months are the highest energy usage months. My town gets extremely hot in the summer and it is disheartening to know that SCE is taking advantage of hiking up the price for customers and in areas where there are no other competitors available to switch to. How does SCE expect folks to pay them if they are making it unaffordable to use their service?! These discount programs are a joke. I'm praying that some competition comes around soon. Just a customer in Southern California fed up with the energy cost increases that we are being forced to cover outside of our will.

Worst customer service
Many of Edison call center representatives, how did they train to be and land on those positions? During the conversations, if they do not like to hear or do not want to answer, they put caller on mute without making any sounds and automatically routed to survey mode. As results, it ends the call. In a month, I've been experienced "twice" these situations. What is the point hiring these kinds of people that refused to help/ solve issues. Should not be in those positions to serve the public.

I was out of power for 3 days
I was out of power for 3 days, repeatedly calling their (outsourced) customer service. These guys are absolutely the worst. Utility companies don't face competition and they can get away with having the most horrendous customer service imaginable and nobody does anything. Their 1.2 star rating says it all but nobody at SCE cares; they're making good money.
