Long story- but worth reading
Edit: After submitting a dispute through my bank the company refunded me. And today- October 23- my shower cap arrived. It did have a nice note thanking me for my patience. I appreciate that they refunded and still sent the product. I am assuming that was on purpose to make up for my experience. Because of this I am raising my rating from one to three stars. I am excited to try my shower cap tonight. It is cute, and looks well made. I think the company just really needs to look long and hard at their customer service practices. Prior review: Long story- but worth reading. This company is a scam, and the founder is a paranoid scammer. They supposedly have a legit product. I’ll never know. I ordered at the end of July, and a week or two later I emailed asking for an update. I then get an email saying that my order was flagged in a bunch of fraudulent orders. They said I needed to show my ID via video call to get the order, or that they’d refund it. I go to set up a video call. No slots available. I email them, they say there are some open now. I book a video call, and end up meeting with the (supposed) founder. She asks to see my ID, and then SCREENSHOTS IT. I am uncomfortable with this, but ok…. I then get an email that it’ll be released within two weeks. Two weeks go by, I email asking for an update. Get the same email saying it will be released within two weeks. When I email back saying they already said that- I get an email saying it’ll ship in a week. Week comes a goes, and then I get ANOTHER email demanding I prove who I am via some Real ID verification service. What?? I literally met with the founder, spoke to her, showed my ID, which she took a picture of and has on her computer somewhere- and I’m being asked to do it again? They have had my money- and a bunch of other people’s money- for over two months. They keep lying about shipping the product, and have demanded I prove who I am twice. When I write them and say I am demanding to have my product shipped by end of the week or my money returned they send me some canned response about how I need to verify my identity. I will go out of my way to never buy this shower cap, good reviews be damned. She is essentially paranoid that people are buying her product and then selling it as their own- and to try to stop that she is asking her customers TO PROVE TO HER THEY ARE LEGIT. The EGO. You can have the best product or service, but how you treat your customers matters more than anything else. I have never been treated like this by a company that wanted my money. There is a way to handle resellers. Abusing your customer base is not it. If this was a company that had any integrity they would email each customer they’ve done this to, with a sincere apology. Ship the damn shower cap, AND refund them. Under promise, over deliver is the goal. This company way over promises and doesn’t even under deliver- they just never deliver.
