Bonjour,

One star
One star, solely for the app’s usability.
Two years ago, I bought a high-end gravel bike from a local dealer, equipped with what was advertised as a premium SRAM drivetrain. Within just a few weeks, the left shifter stopped working: shifting into easier gears was no longer possible, and the indicator flashed red. Repeated attempts changed nothing.
I installed updates, replaced the battery, and tried every obvious troubleshooting step. Nothing helped. It felt as though the system kept losing its connection and needed to reconnect every time. This also seems consistent with the app, where connecting to the shifters often takes noticeably longer.
The bike had to go in for service. Rather than simply replacing the shifter locally, the entire system had to be sent to SRAM. As a result, my bike sat in the workshop for two full weeks. I find that hard to understand for a company that sells products to serious athletes—people who cannot casually go two or three weeks without their bike, or who do not want to train and race on an inferior replacement bike.
Shortly after I got the bike back, exactly the same thing happened to the right shifter, the one responsible for shifting into harder gears. I did not want to lose the bike for another two and a half weeks, so I tried to live with it. Over time it improved somewhat, then disappeared completely for several months after an update—only to return about a year later, this time much worse.
Same routine: new battery, updates, no improvement. This time it was even more absurd: within 15 minutes, the system prompted me to perform the same update six times, without changing anything. Shifting became pure Russian roulette. Sometimnes only 10 out of 20 shift attempts worked. Also I could not shift into a harder gear for several minutes.
For me, this has been a catastrophic experience. Never SRAM again.

Neue elektronische Schaltung defekt…

Absolute horrible experience
Absolute horrible experience. I got SRAM RIVAL AXS with my bike and reach adjustment for brakes is absolutely garbage. Seriously, who in the right mind tought that hiding adjustment in the MOST unreachable location, to under the handle, is good idea..? In Shimano, adjustment is beyond easy, SRAM made it beyond hard. So unbelievable stupid engineering decision.
Next time I will make sure that bike has NO SRAM parts in it.

SRAM AXS Derailleurs are useless!
2 pogo pins in a row have collapsed on 2 separate SRAM AXS Derailleurs, rendering my bike powerless each time. I can't afford to buy a THIRD new derailleur at £100+ because of what's clearly a design flaw of a £2 tiny pogo pin. The derailleur has been designed so the pogo pins cannot be reached so the only fix is to replace the whole derailleur and SRAM UK customer service doesn't seem to exist, so for now I don't have a bike. Terrible company.

QUARQ Powermeter SRAM Force

Not durable enough or serviceable.
My bike came equipped with SRAM rival Hydro R gear. For daily use it’s kind of fine, it stops and shifts gear. I don’t particularly like the single leaver that does everything, pushing it so far for double shifts is awkward and sometimes it will pop up a gear when you want to go down which is really annoying.
But my biggest issue is the durability and lack of serviceability. After about 5000 miles the shifter felt really sloppy and kept getting stuck and the breaking wasn’t up to much, so I decided to service it. Unfortunately the vertical nature of bike service information silo meant I used the wrong break fluid, knackered! That’s it completely ruined apparently. I get that I cocked up up but for that to be the end of the whole system is ridiculous. If it was made more durable then a new set of seals and a flush through really should do it but SRAM don’t offer that option. Crap. It’s 2026 stuff at this price point should be bullet proof or completely serviceable. I won’t buy SRAM again. And that is the issue. Companies are hoping that making stuff that falls apart will mean that they get custom after custom as we bin and replace stuff but that’s not the case, they just look like they make rubbish and have poor customer support. They need to build their business model on supplying service parts.
