Meleah Sellers did a great job today on…
Meleah Sellers did a great job today on activating our solar and installing the electric car charger. She explain to me how it works, help me download the sunpower app and told me to follow up on the other 2 panels that is not working right now maybe due to the gray weather. She is very nice, professional and highly recommended.

Sunpower OK with salespeople lying as long as they get contract
Sunpower seems to be OK with their salespeoply lying to you as long as they get a contract, and then they dont have to provide what was promised. As part of the agreement to install solar at my house, the Sunpower sales person tole me the electrical panel was going to be replaced, this was a major part of my decision to go with Sunpower as Id planned on doing it this year. After the contract was signed and the opt out period expired I was told that no in fact they arent going to replace the panel, leaving me with an even more expensive job of replacing it as itll have solar hooked in.

No confidence in this company. Buyer beware! Updated.
I contracted for solar panels and a battery backup system with SunPower on April 14, 2022. They said the entire process would be 2-5 months. It is now Sept 5, 2023 almost 17 months later and my system is not completely installed! Initially I was really encouraged when they scheduled by home evaluation almost immediately and the engineering approvals occurred within a few weeks. They said the longest wait would be getting the electric company approval (Eversouce in my case) and that was finalized in an email to me on Aug 11 of 2022. On August 19 of 2022, they said they were working on an installation date and then I heard nothing for several months. I contacted them on October 22, 2022 and they again said someone would be scheduling my installation within a week. Again nothing, so in January I contacted my sales rep (Jordan Lash) and he said he was sending my email to the "escalation" team.
My contact they gave me has changed four times and they said (in November last year) there is battery shortage so this is why they can't install my system.
At this point, each electric bill (about 250/month) that I pay I feel is an unnecessary expense since I should have my panels and battery at this time. I have lost confidence in this company. I also believe they treat purchase customers different than leasing customers since they do not get the 30% tax rebate and once they contract with you and the inspection and engineering plans occur, there is $1000 fee to break the contract. Therefore, if they are this bad before installation, I am concerned what it will be like if I ever have a problem. I would definitely look at not just the product reviews but also consumer complaints before entering into a contract.
April 26, 2023: After the initial complaint above, I received a call from SunPower and they immediately scheduled an installation for April 26-28. After they arrived on April 26 within 1 hour the installation team left claiming they couldn’t install the panels and gave me no reason other than the system would have to redesigned. I now have lost three days from work which I took off to be present during the installation process. After many emails to SunPower, it was determined they did not want to install the solar panels over a south facing cold roof which they had been engineered for so the system would have to be redesigned. SunPower then came back with a new proposal eliminating all the south facing panels (7 of them) and for more panels (5 total) only on the east-west roofs which would produce 25% less total energy of the contracted amount and they only reduced the price $1200! I refused to sign the contract because it states if the total energy is revised more than 10% the contract can be cancelled without penalty. They then renegotiated the price and told me that they would get the panels installed by May 24 (emails to prove this) because I wanted a firm completion date before signing. With ambivalence, I signed the new contract with a promised installation date of May 22-24.
May 22, 2023: SunPower shows up 1.5h hour late and begins the installation. They quit at 3:30pm only to have installed the brackets on my roof and conduit cable to my power box. They left 22 solar panels stacked in my driveway so that I can no longer park cars there. They asked if they could leave their safety lines attached to house but they did not know when they would be returning to finish the job and gave me no number to call. On May 23, nobody from SunPower shows up to do any work or notifies me of their plans even though I have again taken 3 days off from work. I can’t believe how inconsiderate this company is!! Then on May 24, I wrote this up with my roof compromised with empty brackets, panels sitting in my driveway so I could not use it for other projects planned (large delivery of wood) for this weekend, and nobody from SunPower explaining a path forward for completion of the installation. In July the panels were finally installed but the SunVault battery system was not operational and no date has been given when that will be competed as of this date September 5, 2023
This has been a huge waste of my time and energy. I would never recommend this company to anyone, no matter how good the panels may be rated. It’s just not worth the aggravation. Their consumer response is terrible. I can’t imagine what it would be like if I had a problem after installation and they had been paid. Fortunately, I have refused to pay anything until the initial installation is complete. My one recommendation would be to only work with a local representative with good reviews and talk to clients of them. Do not work through the online company.

My biggest mistake was to go with…
My biggest mistake was to go with Sunpower solar, I can not compare customer service with any other Solar provider, but after sales support from SunPower is horrible. Hours long wait time on the phone lines and still tech is not knowledgeable. They will find ways to end the call without providing any solution. Emails to customers support goes unanswered for weeks. Looking to report them to BBB as totally frustrated.

Thank you Julian Sierra
It’s usually scared when it comes to some new experiences. We always thought about panels but we’ve never had them. We got our place with installed solars and it needed to be set up. There was a minor issue with program updates, so the presence of the technician was necessarily. Julian Sierra came on time and provided excellent service answering tons of questions with details because my husband wanted to make sure that everything is ok. Julian is very knowledgeable and patient professional. We were glad to have him as an expert and technician.
