Legacy SunPower Corporation (Out of Business)Reviews of sunpower.com

A pleasure from start to finish - great product, great people. I discovered this after trying to work with two other major solar providers who couldn't get my address right and wanted to reinforce my roof (which was fine with Sunpower).

We appreciated working with a local solar company installing a system that integrated seamlessly with the local electric power company. That was crucial for us. (Good new jobs for skilled local workers. Solar panels that fit our storm conditions. Safety for our local electricians and power grid workers.) We installed a half system of solar panels and a storage battery. We appreciate cutting our monthly bill by 50%. With the escalating electric costs now, it is an even greater savings, closer to 70% a month now. We appreciated the Federal tax credit against the cost of the installation too. Our area experienced power outages a few months after we installed, and our solar system cut over automatically to "off the grid" as promised, with no disruptions. We love that! It cut back automatically when the power grid was restored. Also great. Now we will feel confident in major storms.

I am extremely pleased with SunPower and the reliability of our solar energy system. No regrets on "going solar."

Horrible company I am currently trying to get someone to come fix my inverter that has been out since November 2020. All I am getting is the run around week after week. I am also in escrow selling my home and it needs to be fixed. Truely very sad and disappointed.

We were happy with Sunpower until we had to expand our system and add more panels. Ever since then it has been a nightmare. They have given inaccurate information over and over, do not reply to emails, give us the run around. It has directly affected our TREC payments and entering information for state reimbursement.

Beware of this company and the positive reviews online. Do your research beforehand (e.g., look up lawsuits and a recent settlement for $4.75 million for defective equipment). I paid over $45,000 for 24 panels and a SunVault battery. Most of my panels do not work and it has been months of back and forth to try to get them fixed. The app has not worked for weeks - it is stuck on "Solar is not producing and your home is not using any power". They disable "cost savings mode" for SunVault in NY. The list goes on and on.

Update, SunPower came today and took my inverter after all these months of it not working right and did not replace it. Told me they will send it out for repair. I get a monthly bill from SunPower and they want there money!!! Worst Company, please stay clear of this Company!! Every year from May thru August I have issues with SunPower solar. When I call it in it takes 3 Months to get a technician out to fix it or put a band-aid on it until next year. Every year!!!!! Worst customer service and product!! If you already have SunPower sorry!! If you are looking for solar go with other companies!! SunPower is so so bad!!!!

Try them at your own risk. I WOULD NOT TELL YOU THE WORST PART OF MY EXPERIENCE, SINCE THERE IS LOTS TO SAY, SO HERE GOES,oh,and i do have photos ...yeah, i do. The tech who built the boxes stole my modem pass word and Attempted to PURCHASE items from COSTCO, but could not follow through because he did not/or could not access my email account to complete the transaction. how did i know you ask ? I EVEN know the area where he lives. Am not writing anymore. bye, good luck.
