Homeowners need to know that when a TimberTech “Consumer Journey Specialist “ provides contractor recommendations, they are based solely on the amount of TimberTech products purchased by those contractors and the fact that the contractors took online certification. Do not be lulled into thinking these contractors are skilled or honest! No so! Also, when a contractor provides a bid for you, please check with Timber Tech about the cost of materials before you sign a contract. I learned that contractors can “upcharge” on materials as much as they want. I had looked forward to having a TimberTech front porch added to my home. However, it became such an ordeal, and I was definitely taken advantage of and overcharged. I spoke with Timber Tech representatives several times, and though they were friendly and sympathetic, the contractor still made his money, and the resulting porch was presentable, but not worth what I was charged. I get angry every time I think about how much I was overcharged. As a result, I would not recommend TimberTech as a company to work with. I have no doubt the company will continue to recommend this contractor because they want the revenue he brings in. Too bad about the homeowner. Penny Morris
