VSDC Free Video EditorReviews of videosoftdev.com

I'm not a regular video editor. I found this so cumbersome to use - even somehting simple like changing the duration of images in a video wasn't straight forward and intuitive. It did allow me to upload more files than the other one that currently comes with windows but it's not user friendly at all in my opinion.

This app is okay, but not at all user friendly. Clearly made by people that technically knew what they were doing, but have no idea what the word intuitive means. I've used better programs. Not a user friendly video editor.

I really like the layout, timeline and options available. Pretty impressive for free software. But, I can't get any final projects to look good. I do have a brand new Lenovo i-7 too. The videos come out looking jagged. I've spent hours changing resolutions, frame rates, deinterlacing etc. Even exported to different projects like, PC, Web, AVI, MPG, MPG4. No luck. Customer support has been great, as they always responded quickly with several suggestions. Ten years ago, my old Mac iMovie would create flawless DVDs with converted RAW home footage. In this day and age, you would thing video editing would be easier. Anyone else have the same issue?

I'm surprised that anyone would make such a horrendously buggy, crappy video editor.

The video player, in the Editor, is lagging/flickering after a couple of seconds making it completely impossible to see a pre-view of what I am working with. I tried it on two smaller MP4 files, captured with my Go-Pro camera. I have purchased the Pro version. Contacted Support directly from the software, but no reply yet. In the Task Manager I can see that VSDC uses 40% of CPU and only 1-3% GPU. When I play the exact same video in Windows Media Player, the load on CPU is 6% and on GPU 23% - and no “flicker” at all. Hoping for a reply from Support that can fix the problem - else I need to find another editing software.
