YouScience is the best tool to help students discover how they are personally wired and what career paths align with their aptitudes and interests! As I meet with students, I love the “ah ha” moment when they discover all the ways they can put their strengths and passions to work, literally!

This takes way too long! Students would like to proceed to the next area once they are finished. As a high school counselor we really cannot afford to lose the students but making the students wait until the time runs out does just that. If not for this issue I would be okay with but it’s not a good tool for a busy high school setting.

YouScience provides great customer service. They are solution oriented and always respond promptly to my inquiries, and the people are friendly. I've only used the Discovery brain games and Precision Exams products. They are very user-friendly for both teacher and students once you get the hang of it. For many students, this is the first time they have taken a hard look at their skills, interests, and aptitudes in a non-subjective way. Sometimes it confirms what they already know about themselves and other times it's a real eye-opener. The latter is where the magic happens. There's so much insight students can gain from their aptitude/interest/skills profile. With the Precision Exams students can validate their knowledge and skills in non-traditional areas (e.g. Fire Science, Fashion Merchandising, etc.) outside their academic core subjects. This gets them thinking beyond math, English, science and history.

I love using YouScience with our college students, especially those who are not sure they chose the correct major. It is so helpful in showing students all the possible options open to them with their individual aptitudes. Seeing the joy and relief on their faces when they realize the possibilities is very rewarding!

I am a high school counselor. This is my 30th year, and all but one of those years I have facilitated career exploration with middle and/or high school students. I have used several different programs throughout my career. YouScience is by far the most comprehensive and relevant when it comes to providing information about the user which can then be used to inform their decisions about career paths AND high school courses which will best prepare them for a 'good fit' career. Aptitude assessment results focus on the users' strengths and align them with occupations for which they have natural skills and abilities. The Interest Profiler activity incorporates the users' interest areas, producing results based on their interests. Together these results combine to give students multiple career options which would be satisfying fits for them. Of course, before I started facilitating YS with students, I took the same aptitude assessment the students would be taking. Sharing my results on a Smartboard helps students better understand their results. Most of my own assessment results were 'spot on.' The more I've learned about YouScience, the more excited I am for the students who have the opportunity to use this powerful career planning tool! Two thumbs up from an experienced school counselor!!
