First guy that answered the phone barely spoke English. He put me on with Akim. He was nice. And tried to be helpful. But between American Airlines and Alight no one knows how to complete the dependent certificate process. They change the web page and I found it myself with him on the phone and had to tell him how to get there. So ridiculous

My husband has an account with Alight…
My husband has an account with Alight through his employment. We receive an annual subsidy from his former employer IF we get our Medicare supplement and drug plan through Alight. If we do not the subsidy is lost. The other day we went to check on our 2027 coverage on the Alight website and checked our drug plan which has a low monthly premium and low co pays and best of all covers all of our drugs. Alight had a message in red letters that the plan was NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN OUR AREA for 2027. We found this strange as the plan had sent us a booklet the previous week confirming our 2027 coverage. We both called the drug carrier and got through in minutes. Very polite associates reviewed our drugs and also confirmed 2027 coverage. Our monthly premium as it is with the drug plan is zero this year here in Florida and $5.80 per month. The lowest cost plans Alight offers start at $126 a month all the way up to over $300 a month- and have COPAYS for every one of our drugs despite our present carrier having them as tier 1 no co pays. My husband takes a biologic which none of the drug plans Alight offers will cover. So, I am waiting to hear their explanation for their BOLD LFACED LIE that the plan we have is no longer available in our area. I have set an appt for a phone conference this week in that golden 3 hour window although not holding my breath as in the past we sat and got no call! I want them to tell me why they have LIED. I would not be as angry had they in all honesty said "Alight no longer offers this plan" rather than a LIE that the plan is no longer available in our area. Bottom line we will now lose the employer subsidy as we will not be taking one of the drug plans Alight offers- we would wind up paying more in premiums than the subsidy offered and also pay co pays for drugs. We suspect they only offer plans which give them a large commission. SHAME ON ALIGHT! They need to be put out of business! If ZERO STARS were an option I would pick ZERO!

ZERO STARS ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC customer…
ZERO STARS ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC customer service for 401K benefits and online support. I have been calling for over a week and spoken to at least 6 people who still don’t get the tech support I need. The call puts you into a constant loop and you need to keep entering your info over and over again. My account is locked, first it says email verified, then it says account can’t be found, then it says account already exists when I try to sign up (which is what one customer service rep suggested). Nobody knows what they’re doing and barely speaks English, but when they do they are very rude. Worst company.

Company-wide systematic failure in customer and IT support
My wife and I are retirees from the company that employs Alight to manage our healthcare reimbursements. In 2022, Alight was hired after transitioning from another employee benefits company which had been handling our accounts since 2016. In January 2026 (4 years after they were contracted to handle our accounts), Alight realized there was an error in how my wife’s and my accounts were set up. Instead of having separate retiree accounts, they were supposed to be accounts with one of us as the retiree and the other as a dependent (according to our former company’s policy). Although the error was made by the previous company, it had no bearing on using the website or our annual cash allotment distributions. Alight decided to make this change as per our former company’s policy. The problem is that they failed to inform me, my wife or the company that employs them of this change. As a result, when my wife tried to submit a claim in Jan 2026, the reimbursement option from the homepage had disappeared! When I logged in I had the same issue. This started a 7-month ordeal of continuous phone calls to Alight; they would open a ticket, then within a few days someone at Alight would close the ticket indicating that it was resolved even though it was not. After approximately 5 open/closed tickets, and nothing more than lip-service from various customer service reps, I was able to reach a supervisor and have them finally admit that the customer service rep enters the complaint into a db but has no contact with the IT group that handles these issues. This is because the IT group is located somewhere overseas. Apparently there is no phone or email communication between different locations within Alight. After 4 months of phone calls with multiple Alight supervisors and numerous customer reps, I called customer support at my former company. I was assigned a case manager which seemed to be working at first. But for the 1st month or so, she would just relay the same messages from Alight that they told me, i.e. problem had been resolved. This was baffling because I repeatedly told her that Alight routinely said told me the same. Finally after about 2 months, she started making progress with someone that actually followed-up to ensure these issues were fixed. In addition to the reimbursement account option disappearing, my wife’s and my cell numbers and email addresses were crossed at various times so when I submitted a claim my wife would get the notification and vice versa. Furthermore, my debit/credit card issued by Alight that I used to pay for my Rxs over the previous 10 years suddenly stopped working without explanation.
On another issue regarding the pension plan from my former company, I became eligible during the 7-month problem described above. To activate my pension, I had to fill out a multipage application they sent me, then get it notarized. I did this on schedule but did not hear back from them for a month despite their instructions that I would receive confirmation within a few business days. While I was waiting, I received another packet with the same pension application and no explanation as to why it was sent. After not hearing from anyone at Alight I called Customer Service again; this time their pension group. The rep I spoke to couldn’t figure out why the process was stalled. I told her that I received this new application form a couple of weeks after submitting the original application. After comparing the original and the new applications line by line, I spotted a single line on one of the pages that asked for a spouse’s signature on the original form. This new application had the same line but this entry was identified with my wife’s name printed on the page, differing from the original application which simply said ‘spouse’s signature’. Because of this minor detail the original application from Alight was invalid but nobody from Alight informed me of this – once again, no communication by Alight. So I had to fill out the form again and get a second notarization – all because this company doesn’t seem to understand that when they make a change, they need to inform their customers in advance… or ever. It’s clear that they don’t know what they’re doing and they don’t seem to care.
These errors are inexcusable and have caused many months of frustration that could have been avoided. Alight’s management has taken no action to address these errors. Alight needs to be out of business– they are incompetent and negligent on a company-wide basis in addressing customer issues. A company that earns a 1.1 star rating from nearly 300 reviews is very conclusive on their lack of integrity as a competent organization. It is also inexcusable that despite this clear disapproval, our former employer continues to employ Alight.

Totally inept and incompetent company.
Totally inept and incompetent company.
My wife had 2 surgeries which were 2 weeks apart so I took 1 week off then worked a week then took another week off.
Alight insists that this is Continuous Leave even though the Medical Community and Google AI defines it as Intermittent Leave:- Intermittent family medical leave allows eligible employees to take FMLA leave in separate, non-consecutive blocks of time.
Thus they have refused any payment.
My wife's doctor knows that this is classified as Intermittent and won't file it as Continuous Leave. Well maybe because that is what it is, Alight. It's a great scam and an easy way to save money, huh. Change the rules so that honest claims are deemed as not payable. Good job.
The agents do try to be helpful and I never had any issues with people on the phone(aside from being put on hold for over an hour in one case and waiting over 4 hours for a call back in another). This is not their fault, their hands are tied by company policies(a company that doesn't care about anything but making money for themselves).

HORRIBLE
HORRIBLE! Never try to get your money there if you are on disability leave for mental health. They will force you to send dozens of medical proofs and still refuse to pay you the necessary amounts. You should rather get paid by the government directly or use any other options available if you need your money fast (ex: bills to pay). I gave my case manager my return-to-work form from my doctor, and she has been ghosting me for a week! Feeling desperate with my current options now... :(

Absolutely appalling
Not sure why Trustpilot categorizes them as "clothing", they are an HR business process outsourcing provider. My former employer has outsourced retiree pension and benefits to them. They are beyond incompetent. There have been numerous issues, the most recent associated with the cancellation of COBRA effective when I left the US in mid-June. I cancelled on the earliest date possible; June 1st, meaning according to their processes, coverage would cease at the end of June. In error, they deducted COBRA at the beginning of July. I immediately contacted them and was told a ticket would be raised to mail a refund (while they can deduct directly, credits have to be by check). Contacted again in August and they said the ticket was in process and it takes a while to mail the check. Contacted them in September and they said no ticket had been created. So at the time of writing they're raising another ticket and I assume they'll string me along for another 2 months. It's only for $1000 but surely a top tier employer (my former) shouldn't be outsourcing to companies like this one.

This review concerns Alight Worklife
This review concerns Alight Worklife, supposedly my "benefits resource," not a clothing store as indicated. My experience has been very frustrating. My account was "frozen" after I signed up for direct deposit. It does not show up as frozen; it does not show up at all. They function more like a scam than a service provider: money is gone and no answers but lots of my time wasted. Powerless receptionists follow meaningless and circular scripts with no apparent progress. I cannot get any answers other than "a ticket has been created." Other than someone answering the phones there the company does not even seem legitimate.
