Constant issues with saved DVR programs deleted, or the cable menu being compromised so it gives you that little tiny menu at the bottom of the screen. Whenever you call, you're on hold longer than it's worth, and they never have a solution. It's always, "sorry for the inconvenience." Today's complaint is about their internet, though. I don't know how the internet was set up at my work, but we have many issues with it. Seeing as everything we do requires a functioning internet, when it goes out it's a huge problem. Can't even answer client questions because we can't look anything up. We call Spectrum and are continually given the runaround in regards to our, "third party router." Basically it's not their equipment, so they don't want to touch it; which I completely understand. However. You just leave it at that? Just, "yep sorry that's not ours, don't know how to help you." Awesome. We are not penny pinching, we are very willing to pay whatever we need to, to get this internet thing resolved. All of the boxes and garbage are in a closet my office, and multiple times per day I have to stop what I'm doing, get up on a chair and unplug the whole system and plug it back in. Then I have to restart my computer. This is just terrific when you're in the middle of payroll. Tired of bumbling along, we call back again and tell them to just come out here and do WHATEVER THEY NEED TO DO, to get us the end-result we want. Firstly, scheduling a service call should not take 20 minutes. Secondly, the rep told us because of Covid, she would have to disconnect that call and call us back the next day to schedule the service. Like....what? What in the world does Covid have to do with scheduling an appointment over the phone? Ok fine, we'll play your little game. But, to no one's surprise, they didn't call us back. We had to call them back and, apparently, the planets were all aligned that day so they scheduled our appointment. Day comes and guy comes out. Sees one person who works here to tell them he's here. Then he left. Don't know when he left, or what he did for us. He literally came out, went somewhere that was not where the internet hardware is (it's in my office, remember, and he never once stepped foot in there), and then just....disappeared. No goodbye, no eff you, nothing. You would think they would have tried to up-sell us every time we called; we're the perfect customer! Just fix it and we'll pay. I guess now, even that's not good enough. And basic manners don't exist at all. And our internet still doesn't work right.

We’ve had our internet with Spectrum about two years. We’ve upgraded to the fastest they have, so they tell us. And it’s not cheap! The service is horrible! Our internet goes out at least two or three times sometimes a day. This past week, it was out two nights in a row, because they claimed to be doing maintenance on their system. We have our home phones, our cell phones, our security system, lights, etc. all hooked into our Wi-Fi, so when the WiFi goes out in the middle of the night, our lights come on, our Alexa blurts out to tell us she’s not hooked up to WiFi. This is all very aggravating, especially right now with trying to work from home. If they don’t get this fixed, we are moving to another company!

Horrible customer service! They take your payment then lie and treat you like crap! Customer Service Reps and Techs are snotty towards you . I'm glad we are finally getting another service provider Empire in our area. Maybe when they start to loose a mass amount of customers because of their horrible attitudes and service maybe then they will get off their high horses.

On Friday, May 15th 2020, I was in my home minding my own business when I heard the doorbell. I went to the door, and saw a charter spectrum agent named Eric Proladocfer standing at the door. I answered the door to ask what he needed. He started to try to sell his products to me. In the middle of his spiel, he spat in the middle of my yard……that’s right….he spat in the middle of my yard while a pandemic is running wild through the country. I got his information, and contacted the charter spectrum location on 5543 Grove Blvd, Hoover, AL 35226. At this time, I spoke to who was supposed to be Eric’s manager, Chris Davis. I told Chris about what happened, and he said that he would talk to his manager about the incident (I thought he was the manager?) and get back to me no later than Monday (05/18/2020) afternoon. I never received a call from anyone. Now, I’m leaving this review. I guess this company doesn’t care about their employees spitting on people’s property…..even during a pandemic. Hopefully the kids in the neighborhood that play in my yard sometimes didn’t step in it.

I am being scammed by spectrum as I write this, I am a 19 year old college student with a baby boy. When COVID-19 started spectrum came out with an amazing offer, "FREE INTERNET FOR 2 MONTHS FOR STUDENTS" and well I am low income so I cant even afford for a phone bill (I have a free government phone). Obviously seeing this offer I went to call and signed up and the lady in the phone was very ethical and I saw it very easy to get the free internet! Well I called March 24 and my package arrived March 26. When my package arrived I received 3 things : Internet boxes, a phone box, and a cable box for tv. Mind you I never ASKED FOR ANY OF THOSE THINGS. When I received them I assumed it came with the free two months cause why else send me something I DIDN'T ASK FOR. Or even was notified about on the phone, I never even gave my consent to even be sent any of those products... But like I said when I received them I assumed it was free so just left those extra items there and focused on my "FREE" internet. I couldn't figure out why the internet wasn't working so I called customer service, and long story short we found out the problem and they sent me a technician April 2nd. When I called I did ask them if my service for FREE INTERNET would resume April 2nd since I didn't get to use my internet before and I was told "YES". So here I am thinking OK I have free INTERNET from April 2nd to June 2nd!!!! Well when the tech got here (super nice guy by the way) he did his things connected the internet and did some "construction work" cause he had to drill and go behind home etc. He also got the cable box and asked me if I wanted it connected and honestly at the moment well I said to myself (not out loud) might as well since it's here and free. Before I keep going I just want to say, I live in my grandma home and she has been having DIRECT TV FOR YEARS! So I have my own cable box who even the tech saw it was working just fine.... So back to when the tech was about to connect cable box.. He ASKED ME AND SAID MIGHT AS WELL IF IT'S FREE, so I was like ehh yeah why not. Anyway so he left days past I did receive an email with my total? Which at first I like wht is this? but then I said well maybe they are just sending it like what my total would of been but since this is all free I ignored it... (which honestly i regret deeply) more than a month later I receive mail... It was a past due mail of over $200 for: CABLE, PHONE, AND INTERNET. First off, why am I being charge for something that is supposed to be free? So I called and the first guy couldn't help much because the charges were to high so all he did was a-credit me the internet fee (so you see the first mistake, the lady I talked to who sent me all this s** obviously messed up cause first clue is she charged me for the internet) and then said "not that i don't believe you but this just needs a little more investigation" so he sends me to talk to his supervisor. His supervisor first off was obnoxious, rude, unethical, childish, no manners, was horrible customer service. As soon as he answered he went on to tell me how I will be charged and that what I said was practically a lie (not exactly like that obviously but y'all get the point) and when I tried explaining my story again to someone else, he kept talking over me not even letting me explain and just making me feel like I am a liar and not worth listening to! I felt so angry and just humiliated, and the fact that, that man was speaking to me and treating me that way was frustrating. I wont put word by word what was said but yes it was bad. He then sent me to billing, which thank God because the guy in billing was very understanding, nice, honest, and ethical. He was super helpful, yet my case still wasn't fixed... He did tell me to call and cancel my subscription for cable and phone. Which I did and let me just say I don't know if it's me but most spectrum workers shouldn't be qualified to work there. It seems like a joke the customer service

Spectrum’s business model from start to close has been one misrepresentation and non-disclosure after another. The original equipment was returned to a Spectrum Corporate store and the account closed on the 3rd of January 2020. The representative was asked at the time of cancellation for any outstanding balance so that it would be settled; the representative stated the account was closed and gave a receipt for $0.00 outstanding balance. Three months later Spectrum is threatening to place an outstanding balance in the credit bureau though not having presented any outstanding balance before this time. When asked about the receipt showing a zero balance, literally stated no balance remaining, the response from two representatives and two supervisors was that the representative at their corporate store would not know if there was any outstanding bill and this was not their concern. In addition to the aforementioned, the monthly bill was 24% higher to additional fees associated with the service NOT disclosed, but added AFTER the contract was signed. By effectively threatening credit worthiness, this company extorted and extra month of billing, charged late charges and additional fees making them more than 125% higher than ATT and all other competitors in the Louisville area. If ever Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware) had a living example, it would be in dealings with this organization. One star shows because you cannot post with a 0 or negative rating but this is the ONLY area where they truly exceeded market standard…in their malfeasance, misrepresentation and apathetic caviler concern for consumer confidence.
