Just don’t. You’re setting yourself up for more stress in your life.
First, I almost gave a two because of the one very kind woman I spoke with locally. Unfortunately her kindness just isn’t representative of my experience as a whole. I was upset about my internet bill continually going up to ridiculous amounts with no notification or reason. Because you have no choice but to call in order to cancel, and they try to do everything they can to convince you to stay, I had already been talked into staying once. This time I decided to go ahead and have a new service connected before calling. Anyways, she said she completely understood and gave me great advice on how to move forward. I turned in my equipment the next day and have just been waiting on my final bill. Smooth and simple. Today, I get a call from someone trying to tell me I need to settle it over the phone with him now. I politely said, “I’ve actually already spoken with someone so I don’t need to do anything else right now, but thank you.” He then said I need to return my equipment immediately or he was going to charge me for it too. Told him I’d done that and was waiting on my final prorated bill. After that he started threatening to send me to collections and got extremely rude, telling me how wrong I was, then said “fine I’ll put down refusal” and hung up on me as I was speaking. Bottom line, I’ve had them for three years and the advice I have to give is, DO NOT use Spectrum unless you enjoy surprise raises in your bills, bargaining every couple months or so, and being spoken to like you’re the problem. Oh and your internet going out much more often than it should. Thank you to the one woman that was so so helpful, but no thank you to the company as a whole.
