Get Executor Tasks Right on the First Try
I Googled "responsibilities of a Colorado Estate Executor" when my mom entered hospice. I purchased EstateExec after just a few minutes of reading 3rd party reviews. I WISH I had spent time getting familiar with the software on some of those long caregiving days before mom died, but the framework was waiting for me, ready to go once I had the death certificates. I showed up at the County courthouse with the 6 documents completed for my Colorado Letters Testamentary. The coordinator in the Clerk's office commented that they don't usually receive a complete, correct package unless the executor is getting instructions from an attorney! As one of 4 heirs, I'm acutely aware that every dollar I pay myself in executor comp reduces what my brothers receive. I wanted credible, third-party data to establish and justify fair compensation for my duties. I spoke to Matt Veltmann this morning--a consult call is included with every purchase. Although there was already lots of very relevant, helpful information on the site, Matt was able to offer further insights for my situation from his experience working with thousands of executors across the US.
