I signed up for a mental health…
I signed up for a mental health screening, not primary care, and a chatbot told me I needed to lose weight, requested waist measurements, asked if I ever induce vomiting because I ate too much. It then tried to sell me a blood glucose testing kit. The whole thing just felt like "ha ha, you're fat" couched in faux-medical terms. I've never had a real doctor tell me I'm overweight, had high blood sugar, or anything indicating that my weight was a problem. I've also never had my weight put in the spotlight during a psychiatry appointment. I hate to think of all the people with eating disorders reaching out to this service because they have nothing else, only to be told they should lose weight first. The worst part is that they especially target women. If a robot that calls people fat over the internet is an expert in women, I guess the bar for that is pretty low.
