We are a software directory, mirror and review web site that takes security very seriously. The entire premise of our free service is to combat the malware commonly bundled with high-profile sites that cause havock across millions, perhaps billions of PCs worldwide. We're not perfect, but certainly viewed by many as an effective second line of defense against bad actors masquerading as a source of free and safe software.
LO4D.com (lo4d.com) has 20 customer reviews on Consumer Courier, with an average rating of 4.2 out of 5.

It's a good and honest site with a lot of freeware titles that are hosted on their servers. LO4D.com is no BS which is something I can appreciate.

I love this site! So upfront, professional and efficient. I'm sure they're not perfect but they have taken some great steps in the right direction. Nice selection of software, none of the drama and hype found elsewhere... good work, Lo4D.com!

As always, it's best to be paranoid and look at things carefully before grabbing software. I haven't had any problems with Lo4d.

I've been burnt too many times to count and this one is a breath of fresh air. Who cares if they don't have a comments section? Its not myspace. Downloaded iTools and lo4d claims it has malware. Guess what, virustotal verifies it. Other sites like softonic claim it is "100% safe". My foot!

This site looks good in terms of the content when you browse around it but there is no way to comment on any of their reviews or ratings. Also, the information they provide is limited and may in fact be inaccurate. When you are trying to figure out if something is malware, that could be a very bad thing. That's where the inability to comment is a big problem. I was looking into an Android emulator "Andy" by doing google searches and found the review on lo4d. They claim this thing is safe but a bit more searching revealed another report on herd protect which indicates 2 malware checkers got positives for the program in question. Finally, more searches for this program reveal many sites that have information that is somewhat compelling indicating it is or assists in installing malware. Given the inability to comment on anything anywhere on lo4d, when every site on the web allows comments, it makes we wonder if they are in the business of helping propagate malware. I have no evidence to support that, though.

Hello SG, Thanks for providing your review here on Trustpilot. On Herdprotect: They use a lot of different antivirus applications to test files and some are better than others. There are quite often false positives but if only 2 out of 50 detected the files as harmful, they are most likely benign. As for adding a comment function to pages: We have considered that idea in the past but have decided against it for various reasons, mainly because we're not a social network and don't have the resources to combat the spam that these things seem to attract. It's always possible to contact us via our web site's contact form and we always investigate complaints and issues. Malware propagation: LO4D.com does not in anyway attempt to infect anybody with malware and we're fully against any type of program which does that. There are, however, many programs which are "Ad-Supported" which may include additional offers (these are not added by LO4D, but by the developers themselves). Your feedback is appreciated, even if it is more on the negative side. Take care

LO4D is a good site that has a catalog of software that can be useful. I found out about this site on howtogeek forums after we were discussing that most download sites are sneaky and install toolbars and spyware on your system. I gave the site a full review and every time a developer tried to peddle adware or other junk, LO4D duly noted the danger and warned against potential problems with said software. You really have to be an idiot to miss all of the red and bold warnings against downloading freeware that contains junk installers.
