I can’t say enough great things about American Academy of Protective Training! From the moment I reached out, their professionalism, expertise, and dedication to safety were apparent. I enrolled in their firearm training classes, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The instructors are not only highly knowledgeable and experienced — many with law enforcement — but they also have a real passion for teaching. They create a comfortable, respectful environment that’s welcoming to everyone, whether you’re a beginner or have prior experience. Safety is clearly their top priority, and they ensure every participant understands the responsibility that comes with handling a firearm. The course material was thorough and easy to follow, combining classroom instruction with hands-on range time. I walked away feeling much more confident, capable, and informed — not just about firearm handling, but about situational awareness and personal protection as a whole. What really stood out to me was how approachable and supportive the entire team was. They were always willing to answer questions and took the time to ensure every student succeeded. It’s clear they care deeply about equipping people with the skills they need to protect themselves and others responsibly. Whether you’re looking to become more confident with personal defense or pursue a career in security, I wholeheartedly recommend American Academy of Protective Training . This is training done right — professional, empowering, and absolutely essential.

The preparation of the material. Easy to understand, and the patience. The way the class is thought, and answering questions. Just great teaching. Thank You

The basic pistol training course was very knowledgeable for beginners and experienced shooters due to the fact that the instructor Richard F Moreno was amazing. He was very patient with the class and kept it very fun. Everyone should take this course. Definitely my sensei for future classes and more knowledge.

Everything about this training course is on point and straight forward. The service is beyond great. I pass my exams for guard card and fire arm on my first try and I wouldn't have been able to do it without the proper training of American Academy of Protective Training. Highly recommend them and I will be back for my recertifications.

Instructors are very knowledgeable of course information. Teaching environment is calm, resourceful, hands on instructor led and positive learning environment.

Great training! Richard's knowledge of firearms, coupled with his real world experience, made for a first class experience. Additionally, the extra time he spent with me on the range will pay dividends for years to come.

RICHARD MORENO was awesome! He made everything is relatable and understandable about safety
