Excellent, results uploaded faster than the lab itself, very satisfied
Response from Priority STD Testing· Jan 22, 2021
We love hearing feedback like this! Our system is tied directly into the processing lab, so we're able to receive results with no delay as soon as they are finished, updated 24 hours a day. This also allows our patients to view partial results since each test is completed separately at the lab. Not only does this make our system faster, but also more secure, as no records of other lab tests are kept within our system. Thank you for the great review!

Be aware of the HSV IgG test…
Test results were very quick and the hotline was helpful in explaining my results. After learning that I have been infected with genital herpes, I was surprised to learn than HSV (Herpes) testing is not common in standard STD testing, and I believe it should be. It is possible I have been infected for a decade and never knew because it was never included in my past std tests (I’ve had at lease a dozen). My results threw me for a loop because I have never had symptoms. I recommend consulting with your doctor before taking the HSV Igg test because it is a confusing virus, and unclear how to respond to the test if you have never had symptoms. You can also google “ Ethics of screening for asymptomatic herpes virus type 2 infection” to learn why it many doctors struggle with the ethics of administering the IgG test. Most people do not know they have been infected, and if you know you have antibodies it is your responsibility to disclose it to your partners, which can subject you to a lot of irrational social stigmas. Be prepared for some shocking test results incase you have unknowingly been infected with the herpes virus (which is actually quite common), and be prepared for this result to change the way you have sex forever. Sadly the current medical community encourages people to bury their head in the sand, and if you are responsible enough to get tested you are kind of punished for it since most people do not know their status and assume they are std/sti free. If I knew the emotional toll this test would have taken on me before I took it, I might have thought twice about the test because unfortunately it is the medical standard for sexually active people to skip this test. Sadly more women are prone to catching this virus, so be aware of that and to men reading this, be aware that you are likely to carry HPV and Herpes which will effect your partners much more negatively than it will effect you, so put a rubber on it no matter how “clean” you think you are.

Thank you for reaching out to us. This is partially accurate information, however does not account for the type of antibodies being tested for. You are referring to IgM testing which is looking for *active* infections which is useful in diagnosing present symptoms or early infections, which is clearly stated on our website. IgG testing looks for your immune system's antibodies to HSV, which are detectable 4-6 weeks post contact, and would confirm the presence of HSV1 or HSV2. According to our records, the test performed on your lab order was the IgG test, not the IgM test. You can reference this source from the CDC's detailed overview of HSV diagnostic testing using the HerpeSelect test (the test you received) here: https://www.cdc.gov/std/herpes/stdfact-herpes-detailed.htm - Our director of patient services will reach out to you privately to discuss your concerns in more detail.
In response: The purpose of our service is to determine the presence of STDs. If you did not wish to take the HSV test, we would have have gladly removed it from your lab order. Asymptomatic HSV is rarely transmitted in the absence of viral shedding (outbreak/symptoms), which do not require treatment. In your order and result email, you were encouraged to contact us so we can thoroughly explain what your results mean in detail, as well as offer you the opportunity to speak with our partner physicians for further clarification. We aren't able to help you if you don't take advantage of the resources you were provided. We do, however, take all feedback as an opportunity to improve our service, and hope to speak with you to answer your questions precisely, as well as hear your suggestions on how to improve our service. Our director of patient services, Luke, will be reaching out to you in the morning. We want to make this right for you, as putting our patients wellbeing above all else is our number one priority.
