I stayed with Roomrs and had a great experience. I really liked the location of the property. I like that we had a little garden. My room was super spacious and the apartment in general was really spacious. I was able to contact Roomrs by email if I had any questions and the customer service team was helpful.

Really appreciate you sharing this! A spacious room in a spacious apartment with a little garden and a great location is a really nice combination to land in, especially in NYC where space is at a premium. Responsive email support that actually answers your questions is the standard we hold the team to, and we're glad that came through during your stay.
Thanks,

Great place in NYC
We rented an entire apartment in the upper east side in NYC in 2026.
Roomrs gave an apartment that looked exactly like they showed us via the web chat. It was decently clean, well quipped, airy, light and comfortable. The few issues we had were attended efficiently. Their email portal for support is excellent. The technicians who came in when needed were always courteous. Everything worked well and the apartment was supper conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the Q metro line.
The only minor issue was to do with the front door access on moving in day. We couldn’t access the main door when we arrived at the allocated time. The front entrance works on an app and for some reason it didn’t unlock the front door for about an hour and there was no one to call or seek assistance on this. However after the door opened, from then on it was always smooth. Thank you Roomrs.

Really appreciate you sharing such a detailed review! A clean, well-equipped, and comfortable apartment that matched exactly what was shown during the web chat is the standard we hold ourselves to on every listing, and it's great to hear the Upper East Side location worked so well with the Q line nearby. Efficient support through the email portal and courteous technicians is really the full operations side working as intended. We also appreciate the honest feedback on the move-in day access issue - that's a piece we continue to focus on since those first-day moments really do set the tone, and we're glad everything ran smoothly from that point forward.
Thanks,

Waste of money, no professionalism, no care
I chose Roomrs to book a room I was interested in. I had paid the 250 reservation fee, and I had a meeting planned to go over the room. Unfortunately I was unable to make the meeting after having found a last minute room elsewhere. I notified Roomrs about this in their chat feature.
I tried asking a couple times whether my refund of 250 was refundable. Nobody answered me via email. I then got a call from Roomrs, from a woman, and was assured that my refund was indeed refundable and that I should expect the amount shortly in my bank account. I also received an email stating I would be receiving my money back.
After a couple weeks, I had not received it. I was put in touch with Zack from the support team. I called him 4 times and sent him 4 emails, forwarding proof of my payment and that I was entitled to a refund. He told me he would let me know and never answered me again. I let the team know that I would be writing a negative review. I received a call from somebody else on the support team, and that channel also went dead.
It has now been about a month since I paid the sum. It was a very frustrating process for me as I moved to a new city alone, and I was clearly talking to a team who didn't care and was pulling my strings to see how much they could keep me waiting. After this, I would definitely not trust Roomrs to book a room.

Hello,
We’re sorry for the frustration and delay you experienced throughout this process. September is historically one of our busiest months, and while that does not excuse the slower communication, the unusually high volume unfortunately affected our response times more than it should have.
There was also an issue with the banking details associated with processing the refund, which created additional delays while our team worked to get everything resolved correctly. There was never any intention to withhold your funds or “pull strings,” and we’re sorry that the delays and gaps in communication left you with that impression.
We take feedback like this seriously and recognize that the process should have been smoother and more clearly communicated. We’re glad we were ultimately able to resolve the banking issue and return the funds owed to you, and we appreciate your patience while that was completed.
Hope all is well,
The Roomrs Team

Pigeon infested and dirty place
Terrible
- I cannot open the windows due to unsanitary and hazardous conditions such as pigeons infestation, excess droppings and restaurant exhaust fumes.
- The flat was dirty upon check in and the monthly cleaning service stated in the contract has not been provided so far
- the dryer and the dishwasher cannot be used due to broken handles, various kitchen cabinets have broken hinges, the oven is crusty and grimy, the TV cannot be used because there is no remote control
Roomrs was informed promptly and after two months I am still waiting for a response and remediation plan.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand your frustration, particularly with the delays in communication.
We did receive your concerns regarding the condition of the apartment, the balcony, restaurant exhaust, TV, and oven, along with the photos and videos you provided. Unfortunately, our follow-up was slower than it should have been, and we apologize for that.
Our team has been coordinating the appropriate next steps, including having maintenance review the TV and oven, working with building management regarding the balcony conditions, and looking into the exhaust concern. Some of these matters require coordination with the building rather than being items Roomrs can resolve independently, but we understand that does not make the delay any less frustrating.
We take these concerns seriously and appreciate you documenting them so thoroughly. We are continuing to work through the outstanding items and improve the communication around their resolution.
Continue to reach out to our team so we can provide you the best stay plausible,
The Roomrs Team,
MT

Roomrs is terrible
Roomrs is terrible. I had problems from the get go and should’ve known better. They have zero communication, are unreachable, I did not receive any information on move-in information until afterwards. The place was a dump, smelled like sewage, roommates were filthy and the place was unliveable.
Response from Roomrs· Sep 30, 2026
Hello Blake,
We’re sorry to hear that your experience fell short of expectations. We understand how frustrating it can be to have had ran into such issues.
While there may have been some confusion around the move-in communications, we were able to get you into the apartment successfully on your scheduled move-in day. We also were not made aware of the concerns you’ve described through our support channel yet, there has been no email that has come in regarding the apartment.
We take these matters seriously and would still welcome the opportunity to look into them further. Please reach out to us directly at [email protected] with any additional details so our team can assist, as it sounds like something isn't right here and doesnt meet our standards at all.
Thanks,
The Roomrs Team

I’ve been renting a Roomrs apartment in…
I’ve been renting a Roomrs apartment in New York City for three years now. The all-inclusive, fully furnished setup makes managing monthly living expenses straightforward. The rooms are modern, and the location fits my daily routine well.

Really appreciate you sharing this, and thank you for being with us for three years! An all-inclusive, fully furnished setup that keeps monthly expenses predictable is exactly what we designed the model around, and it's great to hear the location and rooms have kept working for your routine over that whole stretch. Three years is a real vote of confidence and means a lot to us.
Thanks,

I had a great experience renting…
I had a great experience renting through Roomrs. My room was fully furnished with nice-looking furniture and thoughtfully decorated, so moving in was incredibly easy. For just $1,550 per month on a 12-month lease, getting to live in Harlem in Manhattan felt like an amazing deal. I was right between Columbia University and City College, with the 1 train practically in my front yard and Broadway right outside my window. It honestly felt like a dream opportunity to live in NYC at that price. Maintenance requests were handled quickly, and the common-area housekeeping provided by Roomrs was also very good and kept the shared spaces sparkling clean. I originally signed a three-month lease because I wanted to make sure I liked both the neighborhood and the apartment before committing longer term. I ended up loving it and switched to a 12-month lease afterward. I ultimately had to break my lease early, and even that process was clearly established, quick, and easy to navigate. Overall, I would absolutely recommend Roomrs to anyone looking for a convenient and affordable way to live in New York City.

Really appreciate you sharing such a detailed review and the strong recommendation! Landing a fully furnished, thoughtfully decorated room in Harlem at that price point right between Columbia and City College is a genuinely great NYC housing story, and we're glad the location worked as well as it did. Starting on a three-month lease to test the fit and then extending to twelve is exactly how the flexibility is designed to work, and it's great to hear even the early lease break process felt straightforward - that's a piece we've put real effort into.
Thanks,
