SkycasketsReviews of skycaskets.com

I posted a really really great complimented review for this company. No one returned my call or email, I know it was over the weekend when my brother went to view casket. No one contacted us back casket arrived like a day earlier than stated, thankful for that. The actual inside lining isn’t what we asked for, such a disappointment for what we paid for. It was suppose to be all white inside and out. The disappointment in my brothers face and voice for his beloved wife in a casket that’s not the color was heart wrenching.

Casket was delivered too far in advance of the service. Funeral home was included in an email and now receives spam from Skycaskets

I felt very misled. My nephew was making end of life decisions and because he did not have life insurance , he wanted something inexpensive. I found this company and let him make the decision on which casket. When we called Matthew, i told him I needed the casket delivered the next day if possible. He told me he would quickly send me the contract while we were on the phone and he did. He rushed me to sign , in order to make the delivery. In summary, the 1495$ price of the casket ended up being double that at 2892. The casket was delivered on time and was good quality but when i called Matthew , multiple times, I was placated and referred to as “sweetheart”. I felt deceived and given a run around for answers.

Gouged me for another $540 for what I had already paid $395 for overnight shipping. Shame on you.

BE VERY CAREFUL I purchased the basic pine casket and next day shipping online four days before the funeral. I immediately got a phone call stating that although the website said it was in stock it wasn’t. But, for the same price, I could get a much nicer casket. It would only cost $700 more. I had 14 minutes to decide because the truck is ready to go. I have seen the same tactic of this high pressure sales - “the truck is loading and needs to leave now” - reported in many other reviews. I have also read reviews of unexpected charges. I haven’t seen my credit card statement yet but I am concerned that there could be unauthorized charges. It was a nice casket and arrived on time. Update: 16 months after this review I received a response. The reply stated that up charge was for transportation and that the company ate some of the costs. The original casket, “for the same price”, was traveling from and to the same destination. I stand by my statement of high pressure sales tactics. “The truck is leaving in 15 minutes and you need to decide now.”

This was my second time using sky caskets, and I thought it would be a smooth and easy process. However, with shipping the casket cost much more than I expected. Then, after being pressured to place my order right away, so that it could be shipped right away and received the next day it did not arrive until 2 days later. So what was supposed to be next day shipping which is what I paid for it turned out to be two day shipping. Then when I called about it I was told that it was the funeral home’s fault (whom they claimed to have a close relationship with) because they wouldn’t accept it on the day it should have been delivered. Then why didn’t sky caskets call me back at that point so that I could make alternate arrangements? On top of all that when I asked for a breakdown of the cost I was told I would have to wait a week to have that emailed to me and I still have not received it. I will be calling back about this to get a refund of the shipping cost and reporting this to the BBB. FOLLOW-UP: I was contacted by Sky Caskets to resolve my issue and received a partial refund of shipping cost. I appreciated the opportunity to be heard and the person I spoke with was courteous and professional. Thank you

I was hopeful when I first ordered the casket for my dad's funeral. They claim overnight shipping and when it came time to pay, I entered my credit card info and my 1500.00 casket was on its way.. so I thought. Two hours later, someone called me from MN. He was a fast talker and said how he was glad he saw my order come in. He stated the casket is being put on the truck as we speak and will be headed my way. He made it sound emergent and took my credit card info again. Turns out, this is how they get you. My credit card was charged for another 1200.00 for what I assume is shipping. It was still less than buying from the funeral home so I let it go. The next day, another guy calls me from UT saying that the casket I ordered is out of stock and I need to pick out a different one. He gave me two options, neither was as nice as the one I originally picked out. I asked him about the guy who called me saying my casket was on the way. He said had no idea who that was and avoided further questions about it. My casket didn't arrive until 5 days later! 5 days!! It was the morning of the funeral and it finally arrived. The funeral director was stressed out and thought we would have to push the funeral back. I was stressed out and felt duped. The box was damaged and I had to help the funeral director unload the casket and try to get it in the building.. the day of my dads funeral. My advice, pay the little bit extra and buy through the funeral home. Not worth the hassle.

I felt rushed and was misinformed of pricing. I expected more patience from your staff during a difficult time in life especially when one is not completely focused and not thinking clearly. We had 2 deaths within 3 months. This was the second casket purchased and we experienced dissatisfying service with both. I did appreciate that all matters regarding delivery were handled efficiently. Thank you.
