This fit the bill perfectly to keep our dog and cat out of the living room as one of said animals likes to pee on my expensive rug. It’s easy to install and relatively see through so you still get to see the living room. It was kind of pricey but it seems to be of good quality.

Retract-A-Gates are versatile, extremely strong, washable, attractive and best of all made in the USA. I own & operate a childproofing business, GooGooProof-Childproofing Services, serving Greater Seattle region. I’ve mounted as many as 35 of these gates in the last six months. The installations were in many different types of homes with various stair designs. All of my clients were very pleased with the product. Here are some pics of a few projects.

I purchased two retract-a-gates so that we could stack them on top of each other to keep our cat from bothering us in the middle of the night. Using his claws and general athleticism, he was able to climb over them, even though they were stacked.

Way too expensive for what we got. Spend several hundred dollars to "upgrade" and keep our dogs contained and they don't even do that. One dog just slips underneath. The anchors keep ripping out of the wall so my husband bought heavy duty anchors and they STILL get ripped out. I had such high hopes for these gates and have been severely disappointed.
