Terrible product & definitely not enterprise ready
Terrible product , incredibly hard to use.
has an abundance of bugs.
Task/Issue cards will disappear at random.
Kanban boards are the worst in industry , free products are much much better.

Horrible software
Horrible software, I have never used software as bad as Workfront. This is a multi million dollar company with so many issues. I had to find this site just to leave this review. Its been frustrating using this software, it fricken blows. Customer support sucks too, they follow up with an email that doesnt have any details on what they are following up on. So if you have multiple issues (yea no kidding, horrible software, so yes I have multiple issues), you are dealing with abysmal customer support.

Good software. Unacceptable customer service.
Workfront on it's own, not bad. Highly customized experience but if you try to use the customer service, you are treated rudely. And they rely on zendesk or whatever trouble ticketing service far too much. After a week of back and forth communication via their ticketing software on a relatively easy ask, coupled with calling and pleading with them for someone to actually reach out an call/talk to us in realtime, it took me sitting on the phone and not hanging up for a half hour for someone to talk with me. In that quick 20 minute conversation we discovered it was an issue on workfront's end compared to them blaming us for not setting thing up correctly.
I wish that was a one off instance, but after three years with them, it's not. Workfront is hands down the worst customer service I've ever had from a company which we spend so much money with. So much so that as my company roles out more teams to workfront I tell everyone to higher a FTE that is dedicated to dealing with Workfront and their "customer service" team.

High cost and complexity / little value
Have been using for about a year and still not operational. Users avoid the system, management resents the waste of money, my reputation as a PMO builder is damaged.
Reporting is abysmal - provides little info, can't combine info, looks horrible, need to spend hours leaning "reporting" to make up for lack of polish and development by the workfront team, can't control colors or order of display, can't email charts, can't email dashboards, ugly time stamp at the top of everything, can't report on agile burndown, could go on forever.
Takes a ton of complexity to get back the simplest information.
It's a system of many parts that don't integrate with each other. Scorecards can't be reported on, custom forms can only hold custom fields, the Portfolio Optimizer provides no value beyond the first day of planning for a year and doesn't take actual information into account and can't be customized to do so.
Creating project plans is unnecessarily difficult. Have to refresh the screen after every drag/drop to make sure it's displaying correctly, things go into the wrong place, the indenting is confusing, it's slow, can't bulk edit, and can't undo.
CAN'T LEVEL RESOURCES ACROSS PROJECTS? Don't call yourself an enterprise project management system.
Have to make SO MANY reports because the system can't support dynamic input. Need tons of variations of the same report and then have to give them different names, even though they're the same report - or have the same name and can't find what you need. Report and dashboard management is horrible.
Instead of learning how to write/program/configure views, reports, filters, etc. I could have spent the time building a system from scratch that would have delivered what I needed and that's what I tell colleagues looking for a recommendation on a system.
I don't think the workfront team uses workfront or manages projects at an enterprise level. I know you're not using workfront to manage requests in the Idea Exchange. What are you using to manage projects, portfolios, and teams?

bad paradigm + bad implementation = kills productivity
paradigm: waterfall. incapable of representing or managing uncertainty. gives no one any insight into my work.
implementation: awkward, slow, buggy, frustrating. data entry that should be trivial is incredibly difficult. never ever refresh a report during a meeting unless you need a 10 minute intermission.
Excel would be far superior.

Too slow! Not for an IT Shop
Honestly I have high hopes for WorkFront. I really want them to be successful. But they need to seriously consider what each market segment really needs. For an IT shop, this turned out to be the worst web application; ever! I think the title explains it all. The web application is extremely slow. Creating and navigating through a ticket was extremely slow. Never was able to get the reports that an IT shop needs. Even though support has slightly improved over the years, there is still much to be desired. Lets start with ownership of the support case with better ability to reach out to other support teams for immediate assistance would be extremely helpful. We still have several huge issues that WorkFront thinks is resolved; which is not.
Ended up switching to ZenDesk. Its not perfect by any means; but it is much quicker and better reporting.

Overly micromanaged for processes that are unnecessary.
Far more detail than necessary. So much time has to be devoted to red tape versus actual work. What was a good idea has gone wrong with the huge amount of tasks associated to working
