I have been writing to support for the past three days, but no one has responded. I don’t know why, but I can see that there are responses from FastMail here, so I hope my issue will be handled soon.

Fastmail not so fast or reliable
If you live in Australia Fastmail may interest you as an Aussie company offering email services based on sovereign infrastructure and a market differentiator of focus on security. Although you can use their servers in conjunction with email clients such as eM client and Outlook these connections come at an additional price. I have opted to trial their home grown apps for windows and android which seem to work satisfactorily if you don't need integration with Microsoft products. However the mail server infrastructure seems prone to outages and support is available only via an online ticketing system which apparently uses the same infrastructure potentially leaving users abandoned without a phone support service or adequate information as to the status or cause of an outage.

Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. Reliability is important to us, too. You can find a history of any incidents that may have impacted our customers, including support ticket availability, at fastmailstatus.com.
We want to reassure you that our support team is available even if you're having trouble logging into your account or accessing your email—you can always reach us at https://support.fastmail.com/support/. When you submit a ticket, you'll receive a ticket number and secret key (displayed on screen and sent via email). You'll always be able access a ticket with your ticket number and key, no matter what's happening with your email access.
If you have any further concerns, please drop us a line, and we'll be happy to assist.

In December the price will go up a lot
In December the price will go up by nearly 40%. I really like Fastmail, even though their support is slow to respond. The "we haven't raised out prices since..." excuse does not cut it. Now, I have to move all my emails to a more affordable service, which Fastmail does not make easy.
Response to reply -
The increase is not $1 a month, it is $3 a month. I have already left. You can judge the quality of the service from the time it took them to respond to this review, 6 weeks.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We really value hearing from you, and your experience with us is important to us.
The difference between the current pricing and the older pricing (from around 2017 for most users) is about $1 per month. If you are currently subscribed to certain older plans, you may see a greater increase, as these plans have gone even longer without a price increase. If this is the case, we've included a discount for your next renewal, which can be applied to any subscription duration, including our 3-year subscription.
We understand that price changes can be challenging, and we want to assure you that these decisions aren't made lightly. This update helps us continue providing a reliable email service without relying on advertising to you or selling your data. It also supports our contributions to open standards and the development of new features.
We aim to reply to urgent tickets within an hour, and we generally respond to all tickets within a few hours. If this isn't what you have experienced, please let us know at [email protected] so we can look into what happened!
We strongly believe that your data belongs to you. Your mail, calendars, and contacts are stored in open formats and can be downloaded or backed up using any number of standard tools. We provide a guide to download all of your data: https://www.fastmail.help/hc/en-us/articles/360060590573-Download-all-your-data. Should you ultimately decide to switch to another provider, and would like assistance with migrating, our support team is happy to help.
We hope you'll stay with us, but whatever you decide, we want to make sure you have a positive experience. We're grateful for the time you've been with Fastmail.

Have used Fastmail for many years and…
Have used Fastmail for many years and been very happy until 5 weeks ago when my email stopped retrieving mail from my primary email address. Five weeks have passed and the issue has still not been resolved. Support is unbelievably slow. I have slowly been transferred up different tier levels of support. I am now at Tier 3. My last email to them was sent 12 days ago and I am still awaiting a reply.

Not as good as it was...
Have been using Fastmail for many years for personal and business -but finding support isn't simple (I'm having problems changing my password). Finally found how to raise a ticket via a 'search' online -at the top of results was a 2017 blog post about 'improving customer support'!
Also spam increased recently...it has calmed down for the moment but I am losing confidence in Fastmail now - I currently find I am using yahoo more as a result!

Terrible service. Would not use again
Since Fastmail bought Pobox my experience had plummeted from excellent - over many years - to terrible. Hackers have used my email address to send spam, but I'm locked out of the account by Fastmail, so ironically I can't do anything. Some emails sent to me are not being forwarded and I can't see them. The support desk is slow and keeps requiring me to log in to view a ticket, which I'm prevented from doing. I couldn't be more disappointed
Response from Fastmail· Dec 6, 2024
Hey there, Sophia! We're so sorry to see that you were victimized in this way and that you had difficulty recovering access to your account.
We lock an account down if someone manages to steal ausername and password (usually through phishing or key-logging malware) and starts using the account to send spam. Generally using the password recovery tool is a quick and painless way to restore access to your account--but that might not be the case recovery options were not set up or up-to-date.
If you ever need support but can't access your email, you can go to https://fastmail.com/support. Once you submit your ticket there, take note of the ticket number and ticket key--you'll always be able to use that to access your ticket, even if you don't have access to your email.
We've sent a request for your ticket number so we can follow up with you--we'd love to help get you back into your account and resume forwarding your mail!

2 1/2 Stars for This Emailer
After about eight years with this emailer [Australia - Five eyes member]
I had enough. The good - an excellent interface and easy to d/l pictures
and images.
The issues: you will experience one or twice per year a service issue, which will require tech support, some with sixth grade education. The uglies are the inability to keep the incoming message column fixed, as it takes up too much space and can and does interfere with reading some emails.
Another major problem are fonts size. If you use a larger than standard font
and need to correct a text or spelling and then return to where you left off,
the fonts will always return to the default size. Major pain in the rear.
Another issue are the paragraphs being disjointed. Every other sentence
is quite often short in scope. They never fixed this issue, after two service
emails.
The worst happen before I finally terminated them. I lost three critical emails,
which I even had starred. I look everywhere, but they were gone and Fastmail could not recover them. This was the last straw.
There are much better providers than Fastmail, which have never given me
any issues. Proton.com and Mailfence.
Ga Day, mate !

The spam filtering is very poor.
The spam filtering is very poor, and they make the most absurd suggestions to try and improve it.
They want me to create a folder to mark emails as 'non-spam'. What? If I don't move an email from the inbox to the spam folder, shouldn't that be indication enough that it is NOT spam?
Speaking of which, I also receive Fastmail newsletters even though I'm opted out. This makes it spam, doesn't it?
I will be moving to another provider.
