Yep, it is indeed a scam
Like the other 1-star reviewers, I got the cold email for a fraudulent job offer. For me the 'from' address was: daniel.wintermeyer[at]provenplace.dev. They seem to have many domains, likely to prevent their spam score from getting too high. After a short reply, I got a response 10m later asking for personal info and a resume. This set my scammer senses tingling (I work in cybersecurity), so I looked into the company. 5 months old, and already 41 pages of jobs from startups. Sure. Looking into it, and pressing the "Daniel" LLM for info without giving up any of my own, I believe the scam is this: They scrape SWEs on linkedin and have an AI make up a tempting job offer, then blast it out to collect more info and put them on their platform. Then they scrape linkedin and startup sites looking for jobs or making them up as necessary, then list them on their site. If they can get SWE A a job at startup B, they then get 15% of that first year's salary. Win! This normally would take quite a few humans doing quite a bit of work, but with the magic of LLMs I doubt they have >$1k / mo in costs. For future folks looking into this, yes it is a scam or at least completely useless. Go through a recruiter or find the startups yourself.

Hi Jason! Very sorry for this experience. Would you mind messaging me via email at [email protected]? I want to clarify: all the jobs we publish are jobs we work with. These are not scraped but actually jobs we introduce our candidates to. We work like a recruiter but given we are a marketplace we can actually introduce you to way more companies than a typical recruiter.
