Great Until You Have a Simple Billing Issue
UPDATE: To all reading this review, keep in mind that their comment about amounts "always being credited", means that if you choose to pay annually, you'll have to wait a full year after your renewal to ever see that money. Be cautious and make sure you understand how locked in you will be with LiveAgent. We are investigating alternative ticket systems. LiveAgent is great until you actually need support. At that point they get greedy and begin telling you how impossible things are. For a tech company, I'm not buying it. Somehow our renewal notice was sent to our junk folder, so once we realized we had been billed, we realized we had agents no longer needed in the system. All we wanted to do was get a credit for those agent for the next year, but we were told they would hold on to our money and refund it in another year when we renewed. So in the meantime, they get to make interest off our money for services we're not using and don't need for two agents. Then they claim it's "impossible" to fix, which I call total bull on. This is made worse by the fact that we are on a monthly plan, billed annual, NOT an annual plan billed annually. By the very definitition, any changes made month over month should be credited back, not held ransom by them. I have my operations manager looking for a new solution and a new ticketing system. I liked LiveAgent, but I'm sure we can find someone better and more willing to make small billing fixes to keep a paying customer happy.
Response from LiveAgent· May 7, 2025
Hi Brian, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We have reviewed the issue, and while our manager has already been in touch with you via email to provide a detailed explanation, we also wanted to respond here to ensure clarity for others who may have similar queries. Our service operates on a prepaid subscription model, with charges made in advance for monthly or yearly periods. This is standard among SaaS providers and is outlined in our Terms and Conditions. As such, we do not offer partial refunds for unused time within a prepaid period, plan downgrades, or cancellations after a renewal has been processed. This policy ensures fairness and consistency for all customers. While refunds for unused time are not possible, our billing system will automatically credit your account for any overpayment if you adjust the number of agents during your subscription. This credit can be used for future service, such as upgrades during the current period or deductions from your next renewal. This way, you only pay for what you actually use, allowing flexibility as your needs change. We hope this clarifies our policies and the reasons behind them. If you have any further questions, please continue your conversation with our manager or contact us at [email protected]—we are always here to help. -LiveAgent team
