The banister looks nice but the manufacturing tolerances are poor. One of the 6 posts for our stairwell was manufactured incorrectly. They were not interested in making us a new one. They actually suggested I contact a local metal manufacturer and pay to have it corrected. We were able to turn the post and they shipped a new bracket for the handrail but the installation is not symmetrical now. We asked to buy a new post but they said we would be at the back of the manufacturing schedule. To top it off the installation bolts and covers for the bolt holes that are included in the slim post purchase we're not shipped....and we had to pay shipping to get them. Now that we're all done some of the cable hole covers will not set into the holes. I've had to carefully file the rim down to get them to fit. Overall a nice product but for the cost I expected so much more. I won't use them again or recommend them.

I have spent almost 21,000 dollars; $17000 dollars on the stairs themselves and then an additional 4,000 dollars installing and trying to modify my stairs to bring them to code. It can’t be done. I could move into my house and get C of O, but for my stairs. This is the only item holding me up. Viewrail acknowledges they screwed up my design, but they will not manufacture new stairs until I sign a new contract waiving all damages against them (I guess they don’t understand how abide by our first contract). Furthermore it will take them an additional 7 weeks from today......if I sign their new contract! I am going to have to go with a separate local company just to move into my house in a timely manner. They were over a month late in shipping my original stairs even though they happily took my money to lock in the earlier shipping date, only not to meet that date. Then when the stairs arrived they did not meet building code. Once their design/sales team is done with you; you will be hard pressed to get this business to respond to you again.

the delivery has not happened 10 days after shipping email and 20 days after payment.. get daily emails from UPS promising next day but nothing I find it hard to blame UPS as this has never happened before..several orders since have been delivered. there is a problem with view rail and shipping beware

Our Viewrail railings are the perfect complement to the setting of our home. The safety of our family and guests is enhanced by the beauty and minimal impact on the views from our deck. The railings turned out better than expected. The quality of the finish and the color are perfect and the impact on the view is minimal. The beverage rail is fantastic, easy to clean and as sturdy as it is beautiful. Installation of the cable system was easier than expected and the learning curve was low. A couple of days working together to finish our masterpiece.

Viewrail makes excellent products. I am proud of the stairs and railings I've installed in two homes. Now that I've worked with them I'm sure the process will be much more streamlined the next time I order. I did have some communication problems with ordering and designing a floating interior stair. I had to deal with a number of different people to complete my order and, unfortunately, the scheduling was screwed up as a result. Make sure you have touched base with everyone you need to about every aspect, especially payment. Even though they had my credit card info and my authorization, they were still waiting for authorization of a final payment before beginning work on the final phase. I didn't get the message from them that this was happening. I actually moved into the house without a stair! Once the parts were delivered, the technical staff worked very well with us to make sure everything was installed properly — talking on the phone, sending demonstration videos and extra fasteners as needed.
