WeCreat lumos ultra review
Our experience with WeCreat and the Lumos system has been extremely disappointing, both with the equipment and the customer support we received. We encountered significant problems with multiple components of the system. The 100W MOPA laser appeared to have focusing/performance issues from the beginning. It took an extended amount of time to get meaningful support, and we ultimately found some of the most useful assistance through the Facebook community rather than directly from WeCreat. We also compared the 100W MOPA with a 60W MOPA laser from another machine using similar settings. Even with the WeCreat 100W operating at approximately 90–100% power, the 60W machine was consistently able to engrave/cut deeper and faster in our testing. That raised serious concerns for us regarding the performance of the 100W unit we received. The UV laser also had persistent focusing issues. The correct focus point seemed to change after powering the machine off and back on. Depending on the day, we sometimes had to intentionally defocus approximately 2–4 mm to obtain acceptable results. We also experienced numerous software/process issues, including: • Random lines appearing through projects during processing, despite the same artwork being used successfully elsewhere. • Layers or repeated processing failing to align in the same location even though the workpiece had not moved. • Significant loss of engraving performance when using engraving angles. • Cleaning passes that did not process. The fume extractor was another source of frustration. We experienced excessive vibration and poor airflow. These problems were communicated to WeCreat. Support was extremely slow, typically consisting of approximately one email response per day, which made troubleshooting a complex laser system unnecessarily drawn out. We were also unable to get the type of real-time phone support that could have made troubleshooting much more efficient. Because of the number of equipment problems, software problems, and our overall customer-service experience, we requested a refund. That request was denied. The laser equipment has since been returned, and we have filed an appeal/dispute with our credit-card company regarding the transaction. What is especially concerning is that after I publicly shared an honest account of our experience, I was blocked by WeCreat on social media. Rather than addressing the criticism publicly or allowing customers to discuss their experiences, my access to their social-media presence was restricted. Prior to my removal others were commenting on removal of posts. One of the admins specifically addressed the issue and stated it was a mistake that post were being removed. The next day they removed/blocked me after I posted my review. I understand that every manufacturer can have defective equipment and that other customers may have had completely different experiences. My review is based solely on the equipment we personally received, the testing we performed, and our interactions with WeCreat. For a purchase of this magnitude, I expected reliable equipment and responsive technical support. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet those expectations. Because the matter remains disputed, we are maintaining documentation of the equipment issues, troubleshooting communications, testing, return of the equipment, and our interactions with WeCreat.
