EndNoteReviews of endnote.com

I upgraded from several EN versions back. It was a little awkward to get used to EN21, but now that I have, I can appreciate some new features such as its remarkable ability to grab online PDFs without going through the usual hassles. There are a couple of older features that I miss, though: I used to be able to see a quick preview of a new reference in my chosen output format on-screen, without having to write it to an output file. (Maybe I just haven't figured out how to do that yet.) Also, on the Edit page the top toolbar is missing the Greek symbol conversion that used to be there. Also, it would be really helpful to give us a couple of highlight colors like yellow and red in that toolbar!

I've used EndNote for many years and it continues to be my friend as I do technical writing.

The tech that I had was VERY patient with me and my questions. He helped me resolve all my problems.

I like the new view and it appears easier to use and integrate.

Had great support for a problem related to synchronizing my files. The customer care advisor was patient and pursued the problem in a very timely manner.

Easy to use product and competent and available technical support staff.

ENDNOTE can help organize thousands of references and conduct Boolean searches even within PDF files. The ability to FIND FULL TEXT works only about 50% of the time. There is no AI option to summarize content in one or more PDF files. CiteWhileYouWrite works ok with WORD, but annoying "bugs" exist.

Good staff support.
