This is the absolute last time I will ever buy anything from Trane or HVACDirect. It's been a headache from ordering to delivery to install. First, they tried to use a shipping company that told me flat out that they wouldn't deliver to my curb. So the unit had to be sent back. Weeks later they finally got it straightened out with a different delivery company. Then, when you have basic questions about install, their "tech support" will tell you to just contact the manufacturer. So I did. And what did Trane do? They told me to contact the HVAC dealer. They both talk in circles and nothing gets done. Weeks later and the unit is still not installed. I specifically purchased an 8kw heat strip to go with my Trane package unit, because it said right on the HVACDirect website that it wouldn't require a separate circuit. It's says right in the install manual that it wires right into a "Factory Supplied" single point entry. Well, of course, that single point entry kit is missing. And the HVACDirect "tech support" doesn't know anything about it. And Trane won't answer any HVAC questions. NEVER AGAIN.

Started with online ordering ended up…
Started with online ordering ended up with talking to a salesman the experience was great he was knowledgeable of equipment was patient and listened to my concerns received equipment within 10 days. The shipment was packaged and protected the extremely well. install this Mr cool unit and it runs great remarkable cost savings already. I will definitely recommend this company HVAC direct and the Mr cool unit I purchased to others. Had a small item return to HVAC direct and that process was extremely streamline. and that experience was also very good. I also talked to Danielle F who was great and connected me with Mr cool tech-support Charlie M who was also great for a small concern and they were knowledgeable and extremely friendly, patient and willing to listen. again, I would recommend the Mr. cool product I purchased for extreme heat and extreme cool. The energy saving is amazing already. i’m retired HVAC mechanic and controls tech technology in these units are way above conventional units. Definitely I’ve stepped into 21st-century. Installation was not an issue for me, but those DIY gentleman who don’t have any experience will not have any issues if they follow the directions correctly.

Good Equipment and Price...but a few issues
I had never seen a RunTru before, and assumed it was simply a foreign-made Trane. Not really. The furnace is made in New Jersey, the compressor in Texas, and only the coil is from China.
The ordering process through HVAC Direct was smooth, shipping was solid, and everything arrived in excellent condition. Once installed, I was impressed with the equipment. When RunTru says it has Trane quality inside, I believe it. The furnace is a tank: solid as a rock. The furnace gives up a little soundproofing and the outdoor unit doesn't have the weatherproofing of a higher-end Trane, but at this price, that seems like a fair trade.
Unfortunately, there were some significant quality-control issues.
First, the compressor copper lines were not factory-flared. My lead installer has installed a lot of equipment and had never encountered this before. Because of the limited working space, his flare tool wouldn't fit, so we had to buy another one for about $75. Problem solved.
The much bigger issue came after we brazed the system and pressurized it. We discovered the unit had **no refrigerant in it at all**. We assumed there had to be a factory leak, but after purging and pressurizing the system, it held pressure perfectly.
I contacted HVAC Direct, and Tiffany spent considerable time helping me troubleshoot the problem. She was excellent. Once it became clear that the system simply had no refrigerant, I asked whether I could drive an hour to their distribution center, pick up a tank, use the 5.1 pounds required, and return the remainder. That wasn't an option. I asked if they could ship me the refrigerant. They couldn't.
My only practical option was to purchase a 25-pound tank of R454B for just under $500. We charged the specified 5.1 pounds, and the system ran perfectly. It has continued to run perfectly for weeks.
I normally work on older commercial systems, so I don't stock R454B. I had no use for the remaining refrigerant, so I asked HVAC Direct to reimburse me for the tank. They agreed to reimburse the approximately 5 pounds I used, which I appreciate but I'm still out considerable money for a manufacturers mistake.
I understand that the missing refrigerant and unflared lines are Trane/RunTru quality-control issues, not HVAC Direct's manufacturing mistakes. But HVAC Direct is the company I purchased the equipment from, and ultimately my conduit to the manufacturer. Returning the unit wasn't a realistic option after installation. Uninstalling and reinstalling the system would have added hundreds of dollars in labor and left everyone worse off.
By solving the problem myself, I saved HVAC Direct and Trane the cost of a return, shipping, replacement unit, and additional labor. Yet I still ended up about **$425 out of pocket** because of problems that should have been caught before the unit left the factory.
So, would I buy a RunTru again? **Yes.** I really like the system, and I think the value is excellent. The equipment itself has impressed me.
Should a customer expect HVAC Direct to go above and beyond if something goes wrong? Based on my experience...no.
That's the bottom line. RunTru appears to be very solid equipment for the money, but my unit had some basic quality-control problems, and HVAC Direct's response left me feeling like I was largely on my own to fix them. If you're buying one, I'd recommend inspecting everything carefully before installation. Unfortunately, checking for refrigerant wasn't a test we thought we'd have to do.
Great equipment. Great price. But don't assume that a quality-control problem will be somebody else's problem once you've bought it.

WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE
Customer service is a joke or should i say what customer service. Called for a bad three month old ECM condensor fan motor and was told that tech support would call me back within 24 to 48 hours. Got a call four days later and was told that i would have to prove motor was no good. I am not a home owner who installed it himself. I have been doing HVAC for 43 years and when you have to spin fan blade with a screwdriver that motor is JUNK This company does not care about its customers but i care about my customers and i will never do business with these idiots again. This was a learning experience for me and i learned what company who not to deal with. If you want to deal with a solid online company try ALPINE AIR HOME PRODUCTS you will get tech support in minutes not days and they stand behind what they sell with no fairytales

You are going to hate their customer service if you have ANY warranty problems.
If you don't have any problems it is a good buy. I bought 4 units in less than 6 months. The last one did not work right out of the box and I ended up buying a new indoor unit for over $500 and had to pay a contractor to install it TWICE. I had all 4 units installed by a contractor and had to hire a HVAC company to PROVE it was a defective head.

Amazingly fast experience
I’ve been in the business since 2001 and I have to say I had an extremely receptive tech that was willing to listen to my situation and provide a solution amazingly fast. Daniel in tech is an absolute asset to have at your company. His service was beyond the biggest companies. Thank you again for all your help.
Key points:
confirmed communication line if we to be accidentally disconnected
Maintained communication line while providing solutions (multi tasking). That made me feel important
Going into the extra mile to provide a solution by reaching out to higher levels to confirm replacement part.

Good Deals, Very High Tech Products - HVAC Direct is unable to Technically Support
HVAC Direct is an online marketplace for ACIQ branded Midea HVAC Products.
I purchased two systems from them and performed most of the installation as a homeowner/contractor. I left the Lineset brazing, evacuation and startup to a HVAC professional.
HVAC direct has spent a lot of effort ensuring the online customer has all of the information required. That was initially impressive.
The two systems worked well for a short period of time. After a "catastrophic event", both systems stopped working and responding.
Here are a couple of things you need to understand prior to ordering.
ACIQ/HVAC Direct will not cover parts that fail due to house surge activity
So, I proceeded to purchase a total of 9 Control boards for both indoor and outdoor units using my own funds. During this effort, I found the documentation was erroneous and misleading. I spent about 1,300 on control boards. I was able to get the smaller unit running - It works great.
For the other unit (5 control boards), it was clear that HVAC Direct sent me a board that was not operational. The company was absolutely not helpful with respect to helping me determine what board was bad.
The units appear to be designed with little to no internal diagnostic functionality or documentation that the technicians can use to troubleshoot.
I am currently at a point where I have all new Control Boards in the system that is not operational. The outdoor unit does not respond. During the last conversation that I had with the Technician, I was warned that they would replace one of the boards that I purchased from them "one time only" under warranty.
They also refused to address an issue with one of the control boards that I purchased that had a damaged corner. I sent them pictures of the damage and they refused to replace it.
These ACIQ branded Midea (Chinese) units have high-end functionality. I am not sure that HVAC Direct and ACIQ are equipped to support the products.
Also - ACIQ needs to invest in a good technical writer. The product documentation is poorly translated from another language (Chinese). - Hey ACIQ - I can help with that.

Shady and dishonest!!
I ordered an ac condenser unit directly from their website then was told it was out of stock. No problem. I could certainly select something else. However, when Nicholas reached out and offered a substitution of a larger unit that needed a larger coil, I accepted…knowing the unit used the older refrigerant and the company was looking to unload them, saving me money, as well. Fast forward to receiving the unit today which did not include the coil. Upon inquiry, I was told (not by Nicholas who avoided my email and calls) the coil was never included and I would have to order one! SHADY! SHADY! SHADY! BUYER BEWARE!!
