Due to the bombing in Iran and airport closures, all airlines cancelled their flights through those airports. Luxe tribes refused to refund and offered 50% credit towards future trips!! It was $5k for two people!! Luckily I disputed it through my bank because Luxe tribes stopped responding to 4 emails. Never using them again.

Subpar. Save your money, time and patience.
A subpar Travel company disguised as a luxury service focused on scamming $$$ when compared to actual costs of travel.
Don’t waste your money.
Budget $2,550 x2 people … $5,100.
Arrival - scheduled early flight as suggested, no airport pickup and then charged us extra to be picked up from our hotel 15 minutes from the airport. Out of pocket costs $450
Hotel checkin- while the hotel itself was a beautiful experience the travel agent Jessie reserved our accommodations through Booking.com which complicated the checkin process since all booking.com reservations require the physical card at check in, our reservation was about to be canceled and us recharged before the hotel management was able to do some additional work with the company. As a travel agent this information should already be known and the booking completed through the website directly. Booking was about $2,396 dollars for March 8-12.
Day 1 - check in
Day 2- combo volcano, La fortuna waterfall and hanging bridges *itinerary by Jessie said about 6 hours however was really going to be more than 10 we tapped out after hour 7 and had to skip the bridges due to back to back extraneous activities.
Day 3- exhausted, sore, and barely able to function we had a photo shoot that was supposed to be at 8 but started at 7:20 am. We thankfully canceled the horseback ride before leaving, and instead made our own reservations out of pocket at a spa and explored the town. They said the credit from the horseback only covered transportation 😆 a joke. It was 5 minutes from the hotel. Cooking class that night was fun, however again the itinerary and what actually happened did not align with dinner menu.
Day 4- ATV was fun! We enjoyed this but again was not aligned with itinerary as it was an atv ride and about a 30 minute 450 meter elevation hike up the mountain after we had a massage the day before our legs were dead. Baldi hot springs was pleasant but the dinner include was anything but luxury, a step above school food.
Day 5- transport back to airport and completely exhausted.
We were rushed everywhere. Through guided tours, trying to enjoy our experience, trying to catch breath 700 meters up a volcano, to getting on vehicle for transportation. Ridiculous.
Actual cost breakdown based on asking the excursions we visited that were part of the $2,550 per person.
Combo adventure $154 per person
ATV $65 for 3 hours
Cooking class $63
Hot springs pass with dinner $79
Photoshoot 45 minutes $125 split ($250 session)
Hotel split $1,200
Transportation ?
Spa massage ($110 out of pocket)
Spending/tips/meals ($500 out of pocket)
Flight ($550 out of pocket)
FYI company refused to provide itemized breakdown of costs. “To not reveal special contracted prices” it’s all bs and lacks transparency.
They are banking almost $1,000 off of women wanting to travel per person. Save your money, rent a car and plan your own trip at your pace!

🤔 Is Luxe Still a Luxury Travel…
🤔 Is Luxe Still a Luxury Travel Company?
I am currently on a Luxe trip in South Africa (day three), and the experience does not align with what Luxe markets—or charges—as luxury. At this point, the only thing that feels premium is the price.
Airport transportation required manual coordination, leaving some guests waiting despite Luxe’s promises of “seamless arrivals” and “premium transportation.” The vehicle provided is an older-model luxury van with a malfunctioning sound system now being run through my personal phone, complete with popping, hissing, and random cutouts.
Basic planning gaps have continued. Despite Luxe’s claims of “thoughtful, anticipatory service,” essentials like water were not available during excursions due to lack of preparation.
Most concerning is New Year’s Eve. Our group paid a premium price, which is expected at this time of year. What is not expected is an unusually informal plan: no reserved table (we will be standing) and what was sold as a full meal reduced to hors d’oeuvres. For a luxury experience marketed heavily toward women, this is especially disappointing, as many will not even be able to wear the outfits they planned. That fundamentally changes the experience.
My partner previously traveled with Luxe and had an excellent experience. Something has clearly changed, and the decline in execution is hard to ignore.
This trip is halfway over. Stay tuned for updates—yes, there is much more...

Poor communication
Traveled with them in 2023 to Bali and had a wonderful experience (probably because Nashka wasn't the trip coordinator back then. It was Elizabeth). So I figured if I booked another trip with them, I would have the same experience. I had a good experience trip wise. Our local guide was the sweetest and the women I met on my trip were AMAZING. My problems were the overall trip organizer Naskha Langlais, order of the itinerary, and the lack of communication when problems occur.
1. The "big" photoshoot not being done on day two is weird. That's when our hair and nails are the freshest. That's before all the high impact activities take place. I don't have to lug around a change of clothes. I can just focus on having a good photoshoot. Having a spa day and then going ATV riding the day after is also strange. I get the knots worked out of my neck and back just for them to come back during the activity? That needs work.
2. After I return from my April 14-20 Morocco trip, I wait TWO WEEKS to get my photos back from the trip. Finally the photo album is sent out and its the wrong photo album. We inquire about this in our chat with Nashka. She tells us that she will work with the photographer to recover the photos. A week goes by, crickets. Another week goes by, crickets. WE have to stay on top of HER to fulfill a service WE paid for. Ridiculous. When refund questions start being asked in the chat, all of a sudden she has to disable the group and email her separately. I sent an email to her on 5/8/25 and to this day 5/23/25 she not responded. The ladies in my group sent out email after email and put screenshots of the responses in the chat since Nashka and other members of Luxe Tribes couldn't be bothered to send a group email out. For our troubles we were rewarded a whopping FIFTY dollar (50) credit for another Luxe Tribe trip that has to be used within the year. What is fifty dollars going to do when the trips are $1,800+?!?!. On 5/12/25 is when we finally got SOME photos from the trip and even some of those were missing still. During all of this, Nashka still has not emailed anyone back. We are all emailing Linda and info Luxe email at this point. It is 5/23/25 and to this DAY, I still have not been notified about the other set of pictures and where they are. It took one of the ladies in my group to post her screenshot from Linda saying that the photographer couldn't recover the photos he took of us in the garden. NO EMAIL WAS SENT OUT TO THE REST OF THE GROUP. This is pitiful communication on Nashka Langlais, Linda Martinez, and Chidi Ashley. I will not recommend this company to anyone. I will not be traveling with them for the foreseeable future. People work very hard for their money and it is clear that the people that work for Chidi do not care and Chidi doesn't care at all.
Do not be blinded by the social media. Do not fall into the trap of "this is a Black owned business so let me support". Spend your money somewhere else where you will be valued and will be taken of if/when problems arise.

First Impressions Are Everything!!!
We searched for a trip to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday and NYE 2024. Assuming that the root word "Luxe" equated to luxury, we decided to book Luxe Tribes NYE trip in Rio De Janeiro. This was our first time using a travel company for our trips and the most expensive trip we had ever booked. Therefore we expected nothing short of amazing and were looking forward to the peace, ease and the luxury of not planning a trip. Unfortunately, the accommodations and experiences fell far short of expectations. Here are a few reasons why:
1. Accommodations: The hotel provided was far from luxury—basic amenities, subpar cleanliness, and lacked charm.
2. Boat: Instead of a nice boat or yacht for a scenic day on the water, we were placed on an old and outdated pirate-style ship that lacked comfort, wasn't aesthetically appealing nor the elegance we anticipated.
3. Dining: The restaurants chosen were average at best, with limited options and very few or none of them gourmet.
4. Activities: Hiking trails and experiences were poorly planned and didn’t match the premium feel we were promised. As a matter of fact we didn't even hike as expected. We just took pictures at a waterfall from three different elevations.
5. Safety: Prior to the start of the trip we asked the trip organizers to add a tour of African American (AA) cultural tour called "Little Africa" to our itinerary and were told we were in for an amazing experience. It was an experience alright; this night was the most dangerous part of the trip. Instead of taking pictures of Brazil's AA culture, we were researching how to survive a stampede because we were immersed in a crowded alley full of people with our only options to get robbed or worse by exiting where one of the favela's (a very dangerous impoverished neighborhood in Brazil) was located or push through a crowd of people praying to survive. Keep in mind that Luxe had Favela's on the list of activities within the itinerary that none of us attended. What in the world is luxurious about visiting a dangerous neighborhood where you could get robbed or worse?
This was the most expensive yet worst trip we've ever been on and for a company marketing itself as a luxury travel provider, this trip did not meet the standard. I hope Luxe reconsiders its offerings or adjusts its marketing to reflect what they actually deliver.
I cannot recommend them to those seeking a true luxury experience.

Once a fan now Disillusioned: Luxe Tribes’ Brazil Trip Falls Short
I have previously enjoyed three luxurious trips with Luxe Tribes—to Egypt, Tulum, and Cartagena—where every detail was meticulously planned. From personalized airport greetings with Luxe-branded signs to comfortable travel buses, attentive hosts providing water and snacks between meals, luxurious hotels, and memorable boat rides, each experience was exceptional.
As one of Luxe Tribes’ biggest fans, I referred numerous friends and clients, bringing a new companion on each trip. Anticipating a similar experience, I chose Brazil for my birthday and New Year’s celebration, inviting friends and clients based on my past positive experiences. This trip was one of the most expensive, especially around the holidays, and I expected Luxe Tribes to really go all out. Regrettably, it felt as if we were receiving scraps, and the trip did not meet the established standards. The Luxe Tribes trip fell short of expectations, lacking the luxury and attention to detail previously experienced. The airport greeting was unprofessional, transportation arrangements were impersonal, and the hotel failed to meet luxury standards. Activities lacked cultural immersion and organization, with safety concerns during the Little Africa tour and a disappointing boat tour. Dining options were mediocre, and experiences like the samba class felt uninspired. Friends and clients invited by the me left early, feeling dissatisfied, overshadowing my birthday celebration. The trip did not reflect Luxe Tribes’ usual quality, leading to requests for a refund and recommendations for the company to restore its luxury standards.

Having traveled with Luxe Tribes…
Having traveled with Luxe Tribes several times, I thought by now they’d have the whole “luxury and well-organized” thing figured out. Spoiler alert: they don’t. My recent NYE trip to Rio de Janeiro? A comedy of errors—if only I had paid for laughs instead of shelling out $4,000 expecting actual luxury.
Let’s start with communication. Or, more accurately, the complete lack of it. I emailed multiple times about late check-out. The response? Crickets. They must’ve thought “silence is golden” applied here.
Next up: the accommodations. Luxury? Try a basic 3-star hotel with no early check-in. What better way to start a “luxury” trip than standing around exhausted with nowhere to go? Our first dinner was at—wait for it—a chain steakhouse we could visit back home. Gourmet, right? This set the tone for the trip: poorly planned pub crawls, lackluster meals after long, tedious bus rides, and an overall rushed, chaotic vibe.
Then there was the “Little Africa” tour, an on-the-fly addition that started with cultural promise but ended with the group frantically fleeing a dangerously overcrowded area. One entrance, one exit, lots of fear. Definitely not what I signed up for in the name of “immersive travel.”
Ah, and who could forget the pirate ship masquerading as a luxury boat cruise? I guess someone thought an uncomfortable, cramped ride was the epitome of sophistication. And that “forest tour” they hyped up? A scenic trip to… three different angles of the same waterfall. We barely finished snapping pictures before we were rushed off on what felt like a roller coaster ride down the mountain. Thrilling, but not in a good way.
To round out the “luxury” experience, dinner on the last night? Nonexistent. The first night’s bar-hopping? Standing in long lines because VIP access was apparently optional for this VIP trip.
Sure, there were a couple of decent moments—like a helicopter ride and fireworks on the beach—but when you’re paying thousands for luxury, you expect more than fleeting highlights in an otherwise chaotic mess.
Bottom line: Luxe Tribes occasionally gets it right, but the inconsistency, poor communication, and questionable safety make them a risky bet. When you pay for luxury, you expect luxury—not a pirate ship, waterfall photo ops, and a side of anxiety. Until they fix these glaring issues, Luxe Tribes isn’t worth the gamble.

My Luxe Tribes Experience: From Hopeful to Disheartened
I’ve used Luxe Tribes several times, starting with a Eurotrip for my 30th birthday. That first experience was okay at best. Despite being advertised as a luxury service, my travel agent failed twice to present accommodations that met the standard I paid for. I had to research and select my hotels to ensure a comfortable stay.
Hoping that my initial experience was a fluke, I joined one of their group trips to Seychelles. This time, Luxe Tribes delivered on its promise of a luxurious and memorable experience. It was well-organized, the accommodations were top-notch, and I left feeling like I had found a travel company I could trust.
Unfortunately, that trust was short-lived. My next group trip with Luxe Tribes was to India, and it was a disaster. The itinerary was chaotic, leaving us constantly on the go without time to enjoy or rest. The accommodations were far from luxurious despite being advertised as such, and the experience was so lackluster that most of the group was ready to go home halfway through.
Still, I believed in Luxe Tribes’ mission and wanted to give them another chance. I booked their NYE trip to Rio, expecting a turnaround experience similar to Seychelles. **Boy, was I wrong.**
This recent trip was nothing short of a mess. We stayed in a 3-star hotel that was far from luxurious, and they booked us a pirate ship for a supposed "luxury" excursion. The entire trip felt cheap and disorganized, yet it came with a hefty $4,000 price tag. What’s worse, Luxe Tribes placed us in unsafe conditions during a Little Africa tour. What was advertised as a cultural experience turned out to be a street block party that was dangerously close to a favela. It was overcrowded, a fire hazard, and outright irresponsible.
This trip left me feeling scammed and furious. Luxe Tribes’ inconsistency in delivering on their promises has destroyed any trust I had in their brand. While they may occasionally deliver luxury experiences, the risk of being let down is far too high, especially for the prices they charge.
I can no longer recommend them. Their inability to consistently provide safe, luxurious, and well-organized trips makes them a gamble I’m unwilling to take again.
