I arrived at my 4:10 appointment at…
I arrived at my 4:10 appointment at 4:15 p.m. Admittedly I was 5 minutes late. The door was locked when I arrived. The sign on the door plainly states that they are open till 4:30.

Awful! Terrible service. You make an appointment and still have to wait over 40 mins. Staff very rude!

1. Absolutely TERRIBLE customer/patient interface. The software is cumbersome, and will send people to a different clinic (with no special heads up) during scheduling if the desired location is unavailable. 2. No good way to cancel appointments. 3. No way to actually contact Quest via email or telephone, 4. If an order by a physician has been made, repeated messages will be mailed to you without reference to which MD made the order. I make my own appointments and cannot tell if I had already made an appointment. 5. No receptionist to handle the paperwork and patient coordination. The people drawing blood seem pretty harried as patients try to vent their problems caused by 1 through 4 above. 6. Phlebotomists don’t seem to be replaced. Where there were two, there is now one…. Same quantity of business. 7. Senior leaders need to revisit all of this. It seems ripe for a new lab to focus a bit on patient satisfaction and take large amounts of business away from Quest.

Recently hired as a specimen processing trainer. Was in the position 3 weeks before I started getting feedback on productivity. Metrics were explained to be a percentage. I was hired to learn their computer system, fix compliance, & train new specimen processors. Management had an issue with me asking questions pertinent to my job, like: how is our data calculated into metrics? What counts as a metric? Are we given extra processing time in the metric for difficult specimens? I was told this wasn’t my business and I was creating a negative atmosphere in the training room. But…what if an employee asks me about how metrics are used?? Manager literally raised her voice to me, arguing how metrics didn’t matter and it wasn’t important to my job. I begged to differ and explained how I was feelings she brushed off my feelings and told me they weren’t important. I handed in my badge a minute later and decided they can fix their training issues on their own, since they have all the answers anyway.

I had bookwork done on 4-17-23. They had to take 10 tubes of blood. It took quite a while. The nurse tied off my arm and began. The nurse did not remove the tourniquet after the stick. On the 6th tube the blood flow almost stopped so she pulled the needle and stuck another vein, with tourniquet still tied tight. She still could not get blood to flow but after a several minutes she finally got enough for number 7. She could only get a small amount for number 8. I told her I was about to pass out. She kept trying with tourniquet still tight. When I realized it, I passed out before I could speak up. When I woke, the tourniquet was off. The got me some water and let me recover. Then another nurse took the last two tubes from my other arm. She released the tourniquet right after the stick and finished the draw with no issue. I believe I passed out due to lack of blood flow for that long period of time with the tourniquet tight. I also read afterward that it can taint the sample. Also can possibly even cause DVT, heart attack and even death. I feel lucky that didn’t happen. Hope I don’t have to go back and do it all over.

I would give them zero stars, if possible. Quest repeatedly fails to submit bills to my supplemental insurance, which covers anything my primary insurer doesn't. I end up spending 30 minutes on the phone each time trying to get them to resolve it, and it's NEVER resolved. Twice, I've gone to a Quest location for lab work, including one of their propriety advanced CardioIQ tests, and twice they failed to run it. So my doc wrote an order for just that test, and when I went to the lab to have it done two weeks ago, they wouldn't perform the test until I paid my past due balance, which I'd been assured had been submitted to the supplemental insurer and stopped from being sent to collections. I paid it just to get the test ... but then they refused to run the test until I pre-paid it. I walked out. The kicker? Two days later, I got a bill from a collections agency for the bill I paid. And today, I got yet another past due invoice for another set of tests that I'd provided the supplemental insurance for ... and they noted on the invoice that the insurer denied the claim because my policy wasn't active at the time. It was. When I called the supplemental insurance company, I was told that Quest hadn't submitted a single claim. Ever.

At Quest Diagnistics Lab, North Kansas City, MO.....I made an appointment for a prothrombin time/INR blood test. After they drew blood they said I couldn't have the results. They're useless, bloodsucking (pardon the pun) incompetents...I went to Walgreens and got it all done in minutes...had to pay again tho.
