It's been an interesting journey leading to resentment
It's been an interesting journey. Initially I was super happy with the support and help provided. The software had it's limitations, but did most of what we needed. I've used the software for a few years now and can feel I can comment on its performance. The company has gone through lots of changes over the years. Initially it went down quickly. Service went from great to non-existent. I was ready to opt out and find a better platform as I couldn't work with it anymore. However, over the last 12-18 months, a lot of new people joined the company and some key people were replaced at the highest levels. This resulted in a renewed focus on customer service and support. Which was desperately needed, so glad to see that's working again. On the upside: The program itself is very comprehensive. It suffers from the occasional bug which becomes more apparent when one uses the API interface. But other than that, it's solid. The Xero integration is really good, there are a few little tricks that are good to know. The API I mentioned earlier is great, it allows us to do lots of data manipulation outside of Cin7. We rely on that a lot. The B2B portal is ok. I find the categories a little cumbersome. However, we're about to replace it with our own as we need more custom functionality. They have experts in each area, so when you want to go down a specific rabbit hole, you can do so with someone experienced in that field. On the downside Stocktake/stock count is cumbersome. That may have to do with the way we run our business but it's hard to get a clear understanding how much stock we actually have. There's no low stock level flag. If certain stock is running low you won't get notified. That's a real issue for us. We're a manufacturer and can have a long lead time. Time between the purchase order and dispatch can be 3-4 months. In the meantime all items that are being manufactured are counted as stock on hand. Hence our balance sheet and P+L is out of whack. Although they have great in-depth specialists, it's hard to get someone that can look across the different areas and advise based on that view. Licensing is a little bit weird. You can add users and won't get charged unless they log in. And that is assessed month by month. We'd like to have 'free' user access for our programmers for instance. Or our bookkeeper. To pay a full license for these non-users is a bit strange. Verdict: It's a powerful tool that can do most of what we need. What it can't do, we can program ourselves using the API. Stock management and forecasting can be a lot better, but I've got high hopes... :)

Hi Joeri, I sincerely apologize to hear that your experience hasn't met your needs or expectations. We have just completed a major project to improve our support including bringing in several very talented and seasoned support team leaders. We’ve also invested in better support technology including support chat with human product experts and a new support portal. These will be rolling out in the next couple of weeks. As you experience these enhancements, please let me know how it’s going so we can continue to improve. We have made changes to ensure our prices are transparent (now clearly shown on cin7.com) and predictable with no surprises. We’ve removed the bad habits of the senior leaders that exited the business over the last 18 months. So, here too, you will continue to see very large improvements. We’re all committed to improving your experiences with service, support and product. I understand Noel Paul (Support Team Leader) has got in touch with you to try resolve these issues. Thank you again for the feedback and choosing Cin7. We appreciate your business and are delivering improvements at a pace. Doug (CMO)
